My sister just called to tell me someone called her at home.  They called her by name, and asked if she knew me...using my maiden name.  Now, I've been married for 23 years and had very little credit in that name.  My sister answered "no".  They told her they were from "Claims America."  I was able to google them and came across several different collection agencies.  I don't intend to respond to them in any way.  If I hear anything else I'll let you know.  I live in Florida and was in Maryland before marriage.

I got a call from 770-881-7088 asking for our daughter, who is an adult and has been on her own for over 20 years.    The person calling said her name was Chelsea Sanders from Claims America.   When I told her that our daughter did not live here and that no one was to call our number, again, her reply was "Did you two have a fight?".   Right then, I knew this was not a professional call.    I called my daughter and warned her about this number and told her if she did get a call from it, not to respond.

I received a call on today from "Claim America".  The lady said her name was Heather Winters.  I called the number back and it was a recording.  The voice mail they left me was a threat to take "legal action".  Fortunatley I have the good sense to know that this company is a scam.  Any reputable company will correspond in writing.  I guess I will wait for the court summons in the mail (ha ha ha)!!!!!  Take care all and not to worry.  jd

Someone left a message asking for someone who doesn't live here, saying they were inspector Brooks and to have the attorney contact them immediately, that it was time sensitive.

got the same call as others from 1-770-881-7088 the caller Don Bradley left voice mail that states i am the respondent in  civil case # kc1408 in my county and needed to contact him. i did not call him back (
i walked across the street to see the county prosecuter and asked if i had any any civil charges pending NO NO NO . he laughed and said you are being scammed and he will call the state attorney general in the morning . i intend to give him the info from this site.

please everyone contact some form of law inforcement agency the more people complain the faster they will be shut down.

the less contact you have with these people the better off you will be. do not call them back . if you answer and it is them hang up . do not be scared these people will steal from you and not think twice about it.

just found out how the got my number they have been caling my father 2 times a day 3 to 4 times a week for 3 weeks (that is harasment)

I got one! I got one!!  Caller ID said UNKNOWN so we let the machine pick it up. She left this message saying she was "Investigator Daner" calling about a civil complaint against me and something about criminal prosecution for non-response. Didn't leave a company name or anything, just this number and extension 108, so I figured it was a scam, but it freaked the snot out of me enough to check w/ my local police dept. A few posts here say that it's a collection agency, so I've no idea why they'd be calling me. We just bought a house in April and a car this past Saturday, so there's obviously nothing wrong with my credit and I am now reassured that this is a scam. Someone is going to get taken w/ whatever it is they're trying to do.  I wish there was a way to stop them, but from what I'm reading, there's nothing we can do.

Here's a really funny thing.  I looked up both websites referred to on these pages ... the specific guy and then the company.  From what I could tell, the "guy" is supposedly on the consumer's side and will help the consumer w/ arbitration and making a deal with the collection agency - and the "company" is the collection agency.  The website for the "guy" also contains the name of the collection agency.  Talk about playing both sides!!!  Now on to the reporting agencies!

I had several calls from this number I have never called them back. They have just called my brother at a number I have never had. They left a threatening message on there machine for me. Every time you think they have given up they call under a diffrent buisness name. They have also gone by Law offices of New York and Mr. Clark Claims America.

The message is very gravelly but the name the man leaves is Mr. Scott. Didn't bother to call them back. We have gotten calls from these people before.

My wife got a call from this company around midmorning.  I had her run a google search on the area code and gave us a listing of for the Atlanta suburbs.  We had a similar call around this same time last year.  Both calls basically stated that my wife was to have civi l action brought against her for a debt she previously had.  In both instances they did not want to let us know what company they woked for, and when questioned who we were speaking with the question was either ignored or the person became irate.  Last year I was able to find out after many attempts that a "Mr. Johnson"(if that's even his name) worked for that company was calling.  This year my wife said it was Susan Banks.  My wife called back after hearing the message and they stated she was being sued for fraud by a previous creditor.  When some detail was given the person told my wife that she had not paid her bill and owed $1563.54.  After hearing that I asked my wife how that was fraud.  The lady then proceeded to tell my wife that after court she was going to owe $5,000 and that they already had a court order to garnish 12% of her wages.  The funny this is that my wife has NEVER been summoned to court, much less attend court for any such thing.  Much like anyone would my wife was shocked.  Fourtunately for her I am educated in federal and state government.  As I sat next to her I told her to let the person know according to the Texas state constitution garnishment of wages is not allowed in the state of Texas unless it is chid support, alimony, student loans, or monies owed to the state.  When this was told the lady became upset and proceeded to tell my wife that I was not helping her cause and hung up on her.  After the call I then opened my laptop and googled the phone which led me to this website.  I agree these creitors and the scum of the earth.  Their methods of trying to collect money are dirty and under handed.  I have and attorney and everytime I call for anything the name of the firm is used in the greeting, not just a simple "HELLO".  I encourage anyone contatced by them to simply run a state constitution search and look for wage garnishment.  When I have a little more time I will file a formal complaint against this company and try to hunt down the address, but from what I have read this number is a cell phone.  Maybe we should find out what provider and them down through their.  Let's see if they like being harrassed.  I hope this long comment helps out people....

Check with FDCPA to see how illegal it is.  County Attorney needs to be notified, in your county.  Police department has more important things to do.

Got a call from these people, Im in SC, was confused, said they had left several messages, I needed to call some lady soon or I would be taken to court, Said to call them, or have my atty call them. I would love to join in a suit against them. They actually had me worried till I came across this site. Thanks

I got a call from the same woman ms or mrs Gainer. She told me I was being sued for 1040.00 and she also had a case number. I asked her who was suing me, she could tell me that infomation.  I asked her what was it about and she could tell me. I told her I wasn't giving her any infomation until I knew who was trying to sue me... Haven't heard from them anymore....

called to tell me im in breech of contract with a loan for my truck.. im current with that loan co.  they were nasty and rude, they called my ex wife and also called here sister and threatened them. they messed up there. they left a case file number with them and told them i owed money. that is agaisnt the law to give that info. they are only allowed to say name of company and number to call. not to give case file and any details about my case. i am fwdin this info to state attorney general in fla. they love to go after smucks like this. they are total dirt bags.

when i called a lady answered i asked for miss taylor gave case # waited 6 minutes,,, same lady who answers claims to be miss taylor,, she was rude as all hell to me,wouldnt give me any info but wanted my SS # and asked if i was willin to make a payment. told them sry you got the wrong guy she got nasty told her i will report this as phone fruad and she hung up.  i hit redial same woman as the 1st  time answered..asked for miss taylor,, 3 seconds later i get some guy woudlnt give his name never asked for case file,, tells me im being sued and called to tell me im in breech of contract with a loan for my truck.. im current with that loan co. tell me im lying to him.  says this will be used against me in court nd im on the docket in my county.. i looked and theres no civil nothing in any court records on me. in the last 20 yrs cept my divorice.  tells me pay up save the hassle or the law suit.i tell him im on disabilty ,calls me a lair ive been on it since 97.  tells me they can take my disabilty from me till this is paid off.  sry but you cannot touch anyones disabilty and i reportin this as phone fruad he mumbles something rude and hangs up.
