- Froderick| 1 replyI got this call this morning on my Job, first she said this call is being recorded they she said her name was Kenya Jones calling on behalf of Dynia & Associates for my Victoria Secret account (VS hasn't sent me a bill in months) then she was like this: How much do you earn a month, do you get paid weekly or bi-weekly, do you rent or own, gave my last 4 numbers of my social, asked who I banked with then she told me how much I owned, how would I like to pay my debt, told her I don't have the finances but could work out a payment plan, then she proceeded to tell me how I could pay for it, I was like no, I'll write to you and discuss the payment plan but the kicker was she wouldn't get off the phone until I gave her the last 4 numbers for the routing numbers on my acct! ok flare noooo way said she would call back on my lunch hr, heck it came and went you don't get that info from me!

- Froderick| 3 repliesI kept getting calls from Ms, Jones again from Dynia & Associates, I finally wrote a letter to her please asking her to stop calling my job, because it was disrupting me, I'm on the switchboard I can't put clients on hold to stop and deal with her, I stated in my letter that I could not make a payment his month, but I would start making payments next month on a monthly basis plus I stated if she calls again I would be in touch the Attorney General for IL and the Attorney General for NY I enclosed a form from the Atty General's office regarding harassment and also that they had been reported to the BBB 45 times! for their practices. Ms. Jones did not call back but I just received a call on my cell from this number but this time a male called and he was yelling my name, which he pronounced wrong! oh well do I see another letter going out!

- Know what's going on replies to Froderick| 1 replyI hope a few other people jump in to help you understand your rights, but first things first. Did they send you a letter by regular US Mail (not fax, text, or email)? It would say how much you owe, who with, and how much to settle. If you didn't get such a letter - stop. Ask for one, and if they won't send you one there is a BIG problem. That being the loan may not be real. They may not be the actual collector, & they may not be licensed in your State to collect. Do some research on 1-party Vs. 2-party consent to recording phone calls. Record the calls, tell them you are doing so & The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act says that debt collectors aren’t allowed to call your place of employment if they know or should know your employer doesn’t approve of them calling your job.
- CWG40 replies to FroderickJust because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a dime until the debt is validated
If they are bothering you, report them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them. - CWG40Dynia & Associates, LLC.

- Froderick| 1 replyThank you all for your assistance and suggestions.
I received a letter from Dynia & Associates 5 days ago, regarding a bill from Comenity Bank (Victoria's Secret) I owe $497.96 they said they would settle for $397.00 which had been transferred to Crown Asset Management, LLC I was given 30 days to dispute the debt. Ms. Kenya Jones called me two days in a row regarding this account, when I received her call on my job she told me the last 4 digits of my SS#, my date of birth, asked me how much I make, how do I get paid, do I rent or Own, do I have a car and then she demanded the last 4 routing numbers for my checking account! I told her to please not call me on my Job, She then told me to call back on my lunch hour if I did not then my silence would mean I did not intend to pay.
I told her I would work out a payment plan for this debt, but she demanded my routing numbers for my checking account. That is when I sent a letter telling her to stop calling, if further harassment continued , I would report her to the Attorney General in IL, NY and the BBB (they already have 45 complaints against them because of their conduct). An 1hr ago and then 2 hours later I received another call this time on my cell and a gentlemen proceeded to yell out my name twice! and then hung up.
I received no correspondence from Comenity Bank of Crown Asset Management, LLC if there had been this situation would not have escalated. Please advise on further action.

- Georgia PeachSomeone from this number called my cell phone, which I DO NOT give out the number publicly. I have a land line phone I use for credit and/or ordering merchandise. After reading the comments above, I do not owe anyone any money or have any delinquent accounts of any sort, so I don't know why they'd be calling me anyway. I NEVER answer calls on my cell phone from numbers I do not recognize. They did not leave a voicemail either. If they keep calling, I'll block the number on my cell phone.
