This group is one of the worst around.  They misrepresent and outright lie in an attempt to get ad bookings all the while acting as if they're your best friend.  I find it very hard to believe that a publication meant for children to provide helpful tips in keeping them safe utilizes these practices.  I have to wonder if it is not a front for something more dubious and will be contacting BBB about it.  If anyone has other ideas of avenues that could be used to shut them down, please post.

I had the same call, stating my partner had ordered an ad.  Now I have Federal Security Inc. trying to collect $228.90 from me.  We don't advertise, and this company has no purchase order of any kind.  Just a bs overdue account.  Grrrrr.

I have had the same thing happen to me.  I checked with my local doctors office and they seem legitimate.  I purchased one and the next thing you know I am getting calls every six months.  When I tell them that I am over my advertising budget, they try guilting me into purchasing more. I just recieved a call but thankfully the call was dropped and I am going to block the call.  The funny thing is they will probabley change their number ever so often to negate the effort.

Yea that is the company that keeps bugging me to purchase the books.

Actually if u check with the better business bureau that company regional maple leaf communications has an a+ rating! Also the books that they publish are endorsed by the mounted police foundation, which is the licensing body of the rcmp. The book elementary safety book for children won the crime prevention award from the alberta solicitor general and the company has also numerous certificates and so forth from the canadian victims of violence because of the work they do to prevent crimes against children!

Please do contact the better business bureau. You will find out that the company has an a+ rating. Also if you want to try to shut down the company all I can say to you is good luck, considering the work the company does is endorsed by the mounted police foundation! ;)

The company wouldn't have sent u an invoice unless ur "partner" did purchase the ad. Maybe u guys should talk more:)

Then why right now as of this date does the bbb website post an a+ rating on the website????? Go to www.regionalmapleleaf.com and u will see the certificates as well as them donating up to 100,000 dollas to doctors without borders for help in japan through their facebook or twitter pages....

That's y as of this date right now the company has an a+ rating on the bbb website...the bbb wouldn't have that rating posted if it wasn't true. So in that case are you questioning the integrity of the bbb?

Actually it does work considering the company has been in business since 1973. Furthermore, if there is no message there is no message....simple. Just because you don't know this company does not mean the owner or the manager or the ceo of where you work doesn't. Heaven for bid you don't know something around there. Remember if you are answering the phone it means you are just the secretary. Some things are just none of your business.

Spoken like a true telemarketing sleeze!  In this economy it is not unusual for multi-tasking, job sharing, downsizing etc.  I answer phones along with 2 other people in my office, none of us is "just the secretary" we hold much higher positions than "just the secretary" & after 20+ years working directly with the owner and socializing with him & his family.... I know EVERYTHING about this company and the owner has made it my business to weed out unwanted sales calls.
