Had a vehicle on craigslist, Got a call a couple of days ago and another today with this number. I took vehicle off craigslist over 2 weeks ago. What is up??? Crazy

Received call after posting vehicle ad on CL.

Same problem as others.  Started the day after posting a CL ad to sell a car.  

***NOTE:  This scammer uses an automated system to automatically parse phone numbers from CL ads and feeds them into an auto-dialer.  

You can prevent this by disguising your phone number, throwing off the computer parser.  

For instance, scramble your number as (example):  3*3*3 - 4*4*4 - 5*5*5*5.   A human can read it, but a computer dials a bad number.

I haven't had any further calls since I did this, so I think his program runs continuously.  Makes sense since once your ad expires or is deleted, the calls stop.

posted an ad on the free sites and received a call from this number, on my cell , 4 times in a row but with only one ring and then cuts off.

Same here listed a car on Craigslist last month. Sold the car and took the ad down three days later. Started getting calls from this number yesterday. Nobody on the other end when I pick up.Very wierd. Anybody have any ideas on how to block the number?

I Have used Craigslist on many occasions for auto sales with no problems. I started getting calls from this number when I used auto trader for the very first time

I told him to send me $100.00 for shipping and handling and I would gladly send the money...not!

If you pretend to not speak English and annoy them enough they will just hang up on you and never call back.

They offer to sell your car, they got my number off of craigslist....

October 10-14, 783-962-1224 has called multiple times a day. I received missed calls from this number multiple time. I have called back on this number however it says number is not in service. This Google and found many people have received calls from this number and because they posted add for car sale on Craigslist. I have also sold one car. This is scam call.

I also put an ad on Craigs List and now Im getting 3-4 calls a day from this #! I say hello and they say goodbye..c/b to non working #..I see plenty of ppl complaining on here...somebody with a SOLUTION would be nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Got two calls with no one there. Number is one you can't call back. I just sold a vehicle that had been on Craigslist so I'm sure it's the same scamers.

Posted my boyfriend's Pontiac on Craigslist. Got a call from this number many times, but a message was never left. Called the number back and it is a non working number. Finally go another call and answered it. They asked if my car was for sale (in and Indian accent) I said yes. They asked the mileage I told them and the person could barely remember where they were calling from. Then said they could help me. I told them I do not need help and I would talk to my boyfriend and he would call them if he felt like it so they tried to get that number. I said we don't need help and hung up. Don't fall for this!!! I have heard of people getting really screwed over!!!!

After reading previous posters comments, I'm guessing they got my number from my listings in Craigslist. Do not answer.. First time I did I had dead air, haven't answered since they call at Least once a day.

Same experience as everyone else. They call twice a day, when I call back it is a non-working #. Is there a way to stop the calls???

I also put my truck for sale on Craig's list .i got a person wanting me to send money to somebody and they would send me the money plus a little extra. I have not sent them any money this number keeps calling me . I tried to call back and they say it is not a working number. I turned in into fraud dept on Craig's list and they have not answered me back .  I am going to block the number on my phone.
