scammer blocked

Got call at 11;10 am pst cid says out of area. no message left. Called number and got Verizon wireless number not in service/disconnected. Call blocked.

Scam  - even ruder more than most. Asked him take my name off of their call list, and it went downhill from there. Blocked!

First, thanks to "WARNING", above, for the research and good info.
Have received a call from this number - "Wireless Caller" - multiple times.  If he is indeed calling from Kansas to try to sell us something, what he is doing is illegal as we are on the "Do Not Call List."  People on this list are supposed to be protected from just these kinds of calls.  Only charities and companies we have done business with are allowed to call from out of state.  Our current phone does not have  call / number blocking feature.  Going to have to get one of those...

The Do Not Call List is useless. And apparently there is no way to stop these calls. A blocker just involves you in OCD - - and here we all are checking the internet up to ten times a day.  This was the usual: a hangup after my outgoing message. Most of these are random calls by a machine. To not pick up is obvious, but that doesn't stop repeat calls either.

Yet another poster who signed up for a govt freebie, but was unable to understand what it really does, or why it was instituted.  The Do Not Call Registry works well.  It is your understanding of it that is faulty.


Fact: The National Do Not Call list is NOT a call blocker!
The DNC list is a LIST, subscribed to / purchased by legitimate telemarketers, so they know who not to call. The FCC or FTC do not give or sell the list to unqualified recipients!

Fact: Telephone numbers on the Registry don’t expire.  You do NOT have to re-register annually.

Fact: Scammers and spammers ignore the DNC list.
Many use "war dialers" to quickly dial phone numbers.  After all, phone numbers are just numbers, and are no secret!  (Arabic numbers were invented about 500 AD, so even stupid scammers know about them by now).

Fact: The DNC list does not apply to NON-sales calls, such as political calls, charities, surveys, debt collectors and businesses with which you have done business with during the previous 18 months.

Fact:  Spam callers can be blocked by getting a real call blocker.
 Google (or your favorite search engine) is your friend.

An unwanted call from this Salina, KS cell number arrived today.  When the answering machine picked up, the caller left no message, just dead space.  Robocallers (unlawful telemarketers) do this all the time while trolling the phone lines seeking gullible schmucks to victimize.  The website www.whitepages.com describes this phone number as "scam or fraud."

DO NOT BE VICTIMIZED BY THESE TELECRIMINALS.  LET YOUR ANSWERING MACHINE TAKE THEIR PATHETIC CALLS.

After I asked to be taken off the list, "Jeff" yelled shut up into the phone. Tried to call back but it doesn't go through

3:29 PM, disconnected on 2nd ring, then blocked.

Caller ID = Wireless Caller

calls himself Daiel Bryan from Home Center.  Scam caller.

Called and no message left

Caller ID said CELL PHONE KS. I didn't answer and no message was left. Blocked.

Searched online while the phone is ringing. Found this site and decided not to answer and block the number.

no response when I answered.  Now blocked

I asked the caller if he was wearing his mother's clothes, then laughed loudly over his whatever language he was yelling.

I believe this number is related to 708-453-1520. Apparently they didn't like how I answered, so seconds later I get a call from 785-309-6400. Both now blocked.

Yet another unwanted call from this Salina, KS cell number arrived today, just 1 week since the last unwanted call on March 21.  One again, when the answering machine picked up, the caller left no message, just dead space.  Robocallers (unlawful telemarketers) do this all the time while trolling the phone lines seeking gullible schmucks to victimize.  Since I neither know nor do business with anyone in Salina, KS, I conclude this was another attempted unlawful contact from a scam artist.
