I was playimg a game about how dumb you are.  In order to get the score, a code number was sent to my roommate's cell phone.  After I entered it, I got a message on the phone about flirting tips, which I did not sign up for.

This number is associated with Facebook.  If you take the IQ test on Facebook and want to see your score it tells you to text a PIN to a number.  If you read the fine print, they are asking you for authorization to charge $9.99.  It is a scam.  We ought to lobby Facebook to disallow their participation in Facebook applications.

Yes we have to lobby Facebook to get rid of this scum. It's very bad for Facebook. We need to report this to FCC or somekind of Better Business Bureau or consumer protection agency. I don't know how to do this yet but I will find out and do it. I suppose this was a $10 lifes lesson. Never even got my Facebook IQ score..I wonder how many kids are being scammed with this trick. Are there people affiliated with MADHOFF?

My 12 yo daughter had this charge show up on her phone bill. When asked Verizon about it, they claimed she subscribed to it.  She has never subscribed to anything.  Attempted several times to cancel via text and no response. The website given to me by customer service does not exist

    Mobile Msgr: Alerts - 8002357105 71888 Alt -12/23

I saw my statement and a saw this idiots charging me 9.99 a month, I got a credit from sprint for 9.99 but past months weren't acredited cause they were already paid for,  called sprint and I cancelled this 9.99 and blocked any 3rd party requests, But if you guys are really getting tired you can cancell your contract without a penalty because this violates your service agreement! Just call Sprint and Let them know what they violated your service agreement and you want to cancell your contract and that you will not pay cancelation fee because a violation to your service agreement. If you want to do a little research on how to cancell your contract you can google it too.

Had charge for $9.99 on phone. Called Phone company, they said this was a scam company. They told me to text 44999 "Cancel" They also told me to call 18002357105. I have done both I am awaiting an explanation of this charge. My phone Company has taken care of that charge but this is no excuse.
    There website http://www.mobilemessenger.com.au/
It appears to be a non USA based company, which probably means nothing can be done unfortunately.

If you want to see who this company really is:

On this scam, its a 3rd party deal..
your phone provider is not responsible but can help you get it blcoked/cancelled etc...

In my case since i never use txt messaging at all, I had it blocked that even I cant subscribe (if I wanted to).

Best is call your cell provider and have them help you.
They will likely give you the scams phone #,and possibly other details.

As far as past billings thats between you & the 3rd party.

    wont work. replies to Ryan
wont work, its a 3rd party setup, and it is via a website visit where you & I & others inadveternatly subscribed unknowningly.

best is to get your cell company to block/cancel it for future and the try to get the past charges removed by calling them direct (cell company will give you contact details)...

Lawsuit will be futile, and cost more than its worth to sue.
