Both appear to be ADT.
What concerns me greatly is that both phone calls I received, one from each, were to me as a *non* ADT-subscriber/*WITH A WRONG PHONE NUMBER* about an emergency!
Did someone *die* due to their attempt to call a WRONG NUMBER (that I've had for over two years/unlisted/Do Not Call)?
Or were *both* phone calls total scams??- Caller: Stated as ADT calling re: emergency

- JON replies to Sallyyup, that's ADT, someone must have entered their number wrong.
- RexShame on them.
- William replies to Sally| 1 replyNo one died. This is the monitoring center trying to reach an emergency contact (as given by the business/homeowner) of someone to notify them of an alarm event at their business/home. They make these calls after contacting the authorities unless the business/homeowner requests otherwise. Obviously the business/homeowner gave the wrong contact info. Just let them know this and they will remove you.
- Alli1-800-238-2727 is ADT. People don't dial the number the computer does. If they have your number it is because someone gave them that number to be called. People change numbers and don't update it with ADT. This is why you get called by mistake.
- Donna replies to SallySounds like you are on the contact list for an alarm system that has malfunctioned possibly at work. My husband gets them all the time when the alarm system malfunctions or the person going in or out does not set the alarm properly. You may want to check this out.
- jammyTwo calls from this number, one only rang once, the second time I answered and there was just noise. I'm not on any ADT list as far as I know, so it must have been a typo.
- MBEDitto. Just received a call from them on my cell phone. They asked for a person who is definitely not me regarding an alarm. Based on other posters, someone must have written or transcribed the wrong phone number.

- TL| 1 replyThis is the # that 4-1-1 gives out for ADT.
And yes, I agree with other posters here that ADT calls the #s that customers give them to call. No one died. <sigh>

- J.C.| 1 replyI use to work with ADT in there call center, and how they work is by auto-dialing. So it wasnt a "type-o" on the reps hand, it however could of been a mistake taken off the contract, or update list (a list givin from the customer to ADT to update phone number(s)) On top of this, if you have got a call from them and you DONT have an alarm system you were put donw as a contact for them. If you wish to be removed from the list, call them back (1-800-ADT-ASAP/238-2727) and request to be moved. ANY call center is required to delete a number when requested by someone. However remember a family member or friend placed you down most likely, so they are putting you as a "contact".
- no scam replies to Sally| 1 replyI had a similar call from a man that I could hardly understand. It sounded like he said he was from AT&T Security and was calling to let me know there was a call coming from Ontario. He asked for my personal information and I told him I couldn't give it to him. Anyway, after the call, I checked the number and realized it was ADT. They apparently were not receiving a signal from our system. ADT really needs to be careful and hire people who can speak English fluently because it was almost impossible to understand this guy and instead of giving us a feeling of safety, it was the opposite.
- JengaGot a voicemail message to say they had "received a burglar alarm" and were checking to see if I was all right; clearly meant for someone else. ADT included a street address, which I won't add here. Kind of upsetting: the message said they would "attempt to reach the authorities." I've had this number for several years; bizarre. Freaked me out. I hope the person was OK.

- SharonYES -- it is ADT's auto-dialer. I am an ADT customer and the system is calling me to inform me that the BATTERY, which serves to back-up in the event of a power failure, is low. Sadly, this is due to the fact that the system is on a ground fault interrupt circuit which is tripping due to the Christmas lights and rain! Argh!!!

- Okie10Got a call at 3am wanting to know something, I couldn't understand the person on the other end very well at all. Woke me up anyway, still don't know what they wanted.

- frustratedADT appears to have 'notifiers' who have little or no experience in notifying Security subscribers to their company when a breach in security occurs. An ADT person sounded all of 18 years old and kept asking if I was aware my alarm was going off even though I kept telling them I was not and that I was 100 miles away e.g. "Are you sure you are not at the location ..., is the alarm able to be reset ..." yada yada. I had to call the local sheriff to get any information. What are we paying for?

- RalphThis is ADT calling that an alarm got tripped.
- MD| 2 repliesI just received a call from this number. I accidentally set off my alarm this morning and not even a minute later ADT called to inform me of it. I'm happy to know that my monitoring service is on top of things. I just changed my number and updated it with them but if I hadn't done that, someone else would've gotten the call. Don't be so quick to get upset at wrong numbers. It's not always the company's fault. If you're not the intended recipient of the call, get your number taken off the list and go about your day. These angry posts are ridiculous.
- M| 2 repliesWhy do they call people at 8 am on a Saturday for no reason at all? They called asking for a family member who was deceased. When you call the number to see why, they have no record of the call in their system as well as zero information on any of this... It's quite alarming indeed...

- MariaOne of the dispatcher called about alarm system, the message was not very clear until I goggle this # and find out that ADT.
