Second call from this number in the last week or so.
Same question: "asking if we are still planning on moving"
Said she was from state of California Business Bureau.
She asked lots of question. She was very aggressive and pretentious.
She didn't answer my question and kept rushing me with new questions.
Probably some sort of identity scam.

SCAM! They are hiding behind a fake 800 number that requires an access CODE to call back.

I have received the same call using the same number and the questions were the same i am in Chicago and the caller stated that she is from Chicago business bureau.  Fortunately I did not have time to talk.
I would stay away and just hang up or not answer.

Recieved a phone call claiming to be the office of Economic Bussiness Developement. I told them we had found a location for our office (we are openg a new clinic) They were asking if our MAIN office was moving; I clarified and this was just a new office and she kept asking me how many employees we were hiring. After telling her I could not give her an estimation 6 times I hung up. Immediately after the call was ended my coworker recieved a call from the same number claiming to be the State of Washington Business Developement office. He proceded to ask her the exact same questions until she hung up on him as well. We recieve alot of calls like this. Ask them to place you on their internal do not call list.

I received a call from "state of texas business development office" asking if my company was considering moving.  The person did not initially identify himself.  He had an accent and it wasn't Texan.

I was suspicious, so I asked him:
- what's your name?  He said, "Kevin Williams."
- what's the phone number of your office?  It took him a while to give me one.  (It turned out to be the city's 311 number)
- he asked me another question and I asked him what his address was.  He asked me to hold.
- when he came back and didn't have an address, I asked him in a very friendly manner what the weather was like where he was?  I specifically asked him, "Was it raining?"  He said he was calling from my city, so I figured he'd know.  Instead, he hung up.

Moral:  if you're suspicious of being scammed, ask them the questions.

Got a call from this number.  Did not answer.  I always look up numbers that I don't know on this web site.  Go to the National Do Not Call registry and file a complaint.  Make sure you're registered too.

Yep - they said they were with the Illinois Business Bureau when they called me - seems to me that they call every 3-months or so - same old question about when are we expecting to move!

Received a call from this number. The woman said she is with the California Business Bureau and much like everyone else has said, she asks if we're planning on moving. We DID move about 2 years ago but we have no current plans to move the office again. They've been continuously calling over that entire duration. Unfortunately they hang up on me before I have a chance to tell them to remove me from the list.

VERY VERY VERY RUDE CALLER AND THE NEXT TIME THEY CALL I WILL GO TO THE COPS AND PRESS CHARGES FOR HARRASEMENTS.

What industry are you in?  Our operation is lated to the Health Care Sector.

Said they are from Business Development Office of Ontario. Asked if we're still looking for a new office. When I asked who are "we" she said name of my website. When I said that it's not a company, and asked who she is and how did she get my phone number, she hung up the phone.

I received a call from this number and the person said they were from the State Government Records office and wanted me to give them information on our company.  The lady had a foreign accent.

Same story here but said they were Pennsylvania Business Development Office. Asked my receptionist if we were still "planning on moving". She gave it to me as harassing these people is one of the few vices I have left. ;-) Call center noise in the background, kept repeating that she was calling from the PA BDO every time I asked her "which office?", three which offices and she was gone. No fun at all. At least this scum company gets on the phone. The multi-call robo dials with no one on the line drives my inbound phone people to distraction.

We got a call today from a woman with an indian/asian sounding accent, identifying herself as a representative from "the State of New York Business Development Office". She said she spoke with _____ person in our office last year and wanted to find out if we are still looking for new office space. I told her _____ person is on maternity leave and that I was the office manager and the person to speak to. I asked her repeatedly if she was calling from a NY State government office or a private business and she said she was calling from a government office. I asked her for a website address to verify what she was stating as the State of New York doesn't generally make phone calls to businesses, she stated she would call back for _____ person and hung up on me.

Thank you for starting this thread, I have blocked them from our phone system and we will no longer get calls from that number.

Same here, except it's the Portland Business Development office (Oregon), and I get a call almost every day and they claim they'll take me off the list, yet keep calling.  I keep asking how I can get off the list and they say they will and won't give me any information.  A few times they've told me that they get notifications of businesses that want to move (which our company did in February this year), and so I tell them we've already moved, we're not moving again, and they still keep calling.

I received several calls from this naming - they claimed to be from State of Texas Business Development. They asked for confirmation and date of moving. When I asked the caller, a woman, to tell me who she was, she got flustered and gave out a cell phone number that I called and it went to voicemail. It's some kind of scam for sure, but What?

We just received another call from this company, identifying theirselves as the Oregon Business Development Office. I aksed to speak to a supervisor.I was told one was not available. I asked for a name and a phone number so I could get back in touch with them, they hung up on me. We are on the National Do Not Call registry, and I have reported them to the FTC yet again.
