    Really?!
Just got a call from this #: I asked them who was calling? The guy said his name was Benjamin. I asked him, & your calling from? His reply was to speak to whom he originally asked for "or am I leaving a message? " I told him I could take a message & his reply was, oh OK then he hung up.  Why ask if you're leaving a message if YOUR NOT GOING TO??!

Not in my contact list, I have individual rings by groups for those in my contact list. My generic ringer for all calls not in my list  is no sound . I was unaware of this call until later with the daily clearing of all missed calls. I get five to ten calls a day from various numbers and am so glad the phone is no ring for unknown callers. No message left so number added to ignore listings.

Would actually be pretty funny if they received the same annoying calls they deliberately dish out.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

    1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
    2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
    3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a  violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)  The same goes for endless telephone harassment

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

Medical bills can and do go to collection agencies.  That's their biggest clients.

They won't stop even when you block their number. They refuse to tell you who they are and I'm not being duped on some sort of SCAM so I just block all these unknown numbers.

lol I used to work at a collection agency that only took medical bills, so they definitely do go to collections. They just may not report to the credit bureau, and if they do it's seen as a "soft hit".

Great Ideas! I am at work I get calls 2x sometimes 4x a day. They hang up every time. If they have something to say, say it or don't call. Is there a way to complain, a number to call to make it stop, a website to register no call list? This is crazy. It has been happening for so long I can't remember when it started.

Using the information CWG40 has provided:

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation, cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/
    http://www.consumeradvocates.org/find-an-atto ... tates_value=All

Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

I did some research and found that they pride themselves on professional service, their BBB excellent service awards and their Make A Wish contributions. If we all complain to the BBB and inform the Make A Wish foundation of their unprofessional business practices maybe they will take a hint. I am filing a complaint today. It does not matter if you owe them they are not supposed to harass you, especially with hang up calls. I do not even know why they keep calling the business phone. We don't owe them anything.
