That would be a good thing.  After all why would you want someone to swear at you when you answer the phone?

I just received a call that came up United States.  A guy left a message saying it was USAA.  I called back some girl answered.  I told her someone just called me she said she needed my SSN.  I said when I call USAA I never give my SSN because everything is tied to my phone number.  We went through this about 3 times, then I told her to have a good one cause I dont give my SSN out to anyone.  BEWARE

It’s weird about this number though… the way I got it is from my USAA LIVE CHAT from “Laura S”… she said my acc was still opened and I could call to pay off my $500 debt… I called and some lady said the same [***] and asked for the same stuff, so I hung up…. It just felt weird.

I got the call from Marty Wiggins too. The weird thing is the number that pops up on my screen is a legitimate USAA number (800-531-8722). Then the message request that I call the 800-264-9324. I felt like something was wrong when I had 15 messages from this guy in 30 days. I'm definitely going to let USAA know about it.

It's called phone number spoofing. I'm surprised you've never heard of it.

Got 3 calls this week on my home phone answering machine. Same pattern as others

"Hi this is Martin Wiggins calling from USAA. Please call 1.800.264.9324 and ask for me or any representative"

... then this AM got a call on my mobile that appeared to be the legit USAA # 1.800.531.8722.  I was in a mtg so I couldn't pick up.  The caller did not leave a message.

So I called USAA directly this afternoon today. Spoke with the Credit Card dept., Banking Dept. and Insurance Dept. None of them had any record of calling me and all my accounts are in good shape. Got transferred to USAA security dept. and they took a report. Not much else they can do.

This number is definitely a scammer.

Spooky to think that they now can spoof phone numbers - have the technology to make it appear like a legit # when they called my mobile #.

Same thing still happening in May 2023. Received a call from what appeared to be USAA's legit main line. Left a voicemail by someone claiming to be named Martin Wiggins and to call back 800-264-9324. I called and a person provided a name and employee ID # and I was immediately asked for account number or SSN. I refused to provide it and asked how I could reach their department if I called the USAA main line. She was unable to provide this info and the USAA main line had no record of a contact attempt. This is definitely a scam. Do not call them.

Exactly what happened to me, they started off asking for my Social security number. Usually I verify that well before I talk to a rep. As soon as I heard that, I hung up immediately

Received a call from what appeared to be USAA's real number, but it said "Unknown". A voicemail was left claiming to be Martin Wiggins, and to call him or any other representative at 800-264-9324. I called it back, and the standard prerecorded greeting played, followed by some odd ringing and then music. A woman named Barbara answered with a very long winded speech including her member ID, followed by asking me for my member number or full social security number. I asked her to repeat her name and what department she works for. She replied, "debt solutions". I told her I don't know my member ID and I've never been asked to give my social security number, so I wasn't comfortable with it. She said she could look me up by phone number. I told her that this is a suspicious phone call, so I would hang up and call USAA on their direct number. I contacted the fraud department at abuse@usaa.com with full details of the call.
