You are so gullible to believe this, do your research it is Apple support phone number but the second number that they leave on the message it’s a scam number and as soon as you call you can hear the background and they have accents  from India, I called Apple first and I spoke to the AppleCare and they checked my account and they said you are good and you have the highest level of security, so don’t worry about it and this is a scam and then I called that other number and I said why you guys calling me and they said you are been breached and it so happens that yesterday I got a new IP address security system so I know they were BS me, and the guy hung up on me and I called back and I called him [***] and you guys are scammers and I hung up on his face, you people need to do your research before you actually fall for these  scam’s .....

People figure it out, it is a real apple care phone number, but when they leave a message the other number they leave 1–844 and the rest of the number that is a fake number to get you into a scam and then they tell you that there’s been a breach to your account and you can hear the background and their accent is from India, I called Apple first and they said you have the highest level of security in your account and Your account is good and there hasn’t been no breach, they’re trying to scam money from you. So I called back the number and I asked him what’s going on and he said that your account has been breached blah blah blah and we need to help you with it, it’s so happens that yesterday I just bought a new security system for my IP address so I knew they were lying to me, as soon as I told him that he hung up on me, so I called him back and I called him a [***] and a scammer to his face and ice hung up on him, just like the people that  call you and tell you owe money and there’s a warrant for your arrest and the police is coming to your house tomorrow to arrest you because you owe them money, do you really think the police is going to do it that way? It doesn’t really happen that way, I feel sorry for the people that actually fall for this which is usually the elderly and that’s who they’re trying to target, so they can get money from them, well they’re not going to get [***] from me and if you do your research and Google those numbers and actually call Apple first and check your account you won’t have to worry about people like this and just blocked their numbers , problem solved ....

The fraudsters have spoofed Apple's caller ID.  Why would THE REAL AppleCare call me out of the blue? I never initiated any contact with them.  SCAM probably coming from India or Africa. Beware.
If you have a reason to speak with Apple support - call them yourself using a known good number.

Called and stated they called from Apple support. WE had been at an Apple store in the afternoon April 2018 due the phone that did not work properly (problems with my I phone 7). The store reviewed . Had to do with password not working. They worked with the phone and said that we would receive a phone call from Apple tech support to clear the problem and reset a new password. A couple of hours later we received a call that said he was from  Apple support . I talked to them and they said that I had to go to my computer . They took over the computer and then asked for lots of info. I understgood that something was wrong when they told my to go to CVS and buy som Etune papers for $ 400. I told them I was not going to do anything . They replied that they would shujt down my I phone and  it worked. After this I called Apple tech support. They succeeded to restore the I phone and changed the password.. I later called Microsoft tech support that helped me to change password etc. for my Microsoft Account.

I Called 800-275-2273 supposedly Apple to discuss an app purchased via my Apple ID. The guy sounded sketchy and the hold music was not the typical Apple Music. I explained  my problem and he said you need to go to a device and I am going to send you a PIN number to identify you are who you say you are. I said NO Apple has NEVER asked me to do this and I will not do it. He put me on hold for 20 mins with some weird music. Then came back and said problem fixed we will refund you in 3-7 business days. Uh you don’t even know what you are refunded me one. Then I asked if he is sending an email with confirmation. He said oh yes any minute you should receive it. Bye. Uh you don’t have my email dumb ass!! TOTAL SCAMMER and am sure upset I didn’t fall for his BS!!

Received two calls from this number in the past three days. The first time, I didn't answer, just saw the call. The second time I did answer and was told that my iCloud account had been broken into twice in 48 hours. I was suspicious because the call came to a Google Voice account that I don't use for Apple. I called AppleCare at the same number and was connected to a tech rep who assured me that no one had gotten into my iCloud account, and that the call was from a spoofed number.

Last night I got a call from 1-800-275-2273 and my Caller ID said Apple care and the message said my Apple Ipad had a data breach, I was talking to my computer nerd daughter and she said that Apple would not contact me but to google the number and it did show it belong to Apple. Today, I was gone and got another call and they left another message. I called the number back and it was the Apple number and talked to a very nice young man and told him what was going on and he told me that APPLE NOR ANY OTHER COMPANY i.e. MICROSOFT, etc. NEVER calls people. If you have a problem he said you have to contact them, not the other way around. If you get a call like this let it go to and answering machine and then call them and let them know that you are getting call's also. IT IS A SCAM TO GET MONEY

This is the perfect explanation for what is going on here. It's been happening to me exactly like you said. I can't believe in our digital age that the phone company can't stop this from happening. If you call this number it is legit, if they call you it's not! Thanks for your help!

They call and try to get remote access  to your computer.  They make phone numbers seem legitimate, but they are not.

WOW.    Please don't give them this much time.   Just hang up.
(I usually cuss them out first, but try not to.)  :(
I just heard the word "apple", and hung up.  I don't have an apple computer.  These thieves are out to scam anyone they can get their mitts on!   They go after the elderly, hoping to get a 'hot one'.  CRIMINALS, for sure.     I can' t understand why ANYONE would mark this call legit, unless they went for the scam.  :(

Yes it is the Apple call in number, but Apple just told me they would never call me from that number - so it is a spoof scammer impersonating Apple - BEWARE!!!
