I'm pretty sure if they called you a liar and told you that you were pathetic, they dont have a job anymore. Medical providers file your insurance as a courtesy and it is your responsibility to follow up on anything that your insurance company needs from you in order to pay. If you choose not to do that then of course you will have collection agency calling you. What do you expect?

They keep calling my cell phone over and over but never leave a message!  Then if I do not answer the cell phone, they call my home phone and let it ring.  Goes to my answering machine with no message being left..  Very annoyed!  I know I owe money to a lot if different people because of being diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  You incur a lot of bills that way.  I can only split one paycheck so mant times!

I'm sorry, if they choose not to do that?  Do you know how much an uninsured hospital visit costs?  Try having a couple kids and getting in an accident while working minimum wage.

This number called my cell phone and told me I owed a bill from 2013.  Funny, I never received any information before the phone call so I told them to prove it.  They told me I would be getting mail from Michigan and to be on the look out for it.  I am reporting this to my doctor's office as well to find out how they got my phone number since they only use my work and home number.  They also did not identify themselves.

The number 1-800-353-1401 is, in fact, a collection service company named: Professional Account Services, Inc. - P.A.S.I - I've made medical bill payments to them for years when I haven't been able to make payment-in-full to the hospital or doctors, but the above posts are correct, at first, P.A.S.I representatives sound like a fly-by-night operation on the phone. When you call, just ask the representative if you've called, Professional Account Services, Inc. and they will immediately say." yes " and will be eager to  assist you.

they called and no answer, they hung up, i called back and i was asked for my personal information, they refused any information as of who they were or wanted.

I just got a call from professional account service and they stated they are dept collectors for central Mississippi hospital , and that I owe $800 from checking into cmmc Oct.4,2013 , n that's a Lie I haven't been to a hospital in 2013 n non this year . Especially not to see an psychiatry docter . Then I ask so called debt collectors how they get my number n they say it was document October 4,2013 that's a Lie I just got this new number 3 weeks ago . I called cmmc hospital they say they have nothing on me n if they got nothing on me I dont owe anything. Cmmc asked did the collection company sent anything in mail I said no because they haven't n the lady was like until they send you something than you owe nothing . I work at night n sleep through out my morning they calling me waking me saying I owe money to a hospital I know I dont go to is totally disrespectful, upsetting,stressful n tiresome because now I have to call around . Taking time out of my sleep schedule to get proper info until this problem is actually fixed .

I don't know what these people are calling in reference about, they asked if my name is#####, I said yes and then I asked what is this in reference of they would not say unless I told them my birthday and social security number which I or no one should give over the phone. I told them to tell me what this is in reference about, they would not say because I would not give a birthday or social security number so they said they couldn't help without it. These people must think people are dumb--even some are--to give out personal  information. What are they trying to collect info for, I don't them they should have info should not have to give it. I say they are fishing for info.
They say they are with PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTS SERVICES.  Would not say it is in reference to medical or anything else and I know all y medical is paid for if this is what it is reference to as I gather from the above complaints.

Also, these people calling and then talking to the wrong person and getting the person--elderly who has nothing to do with an account  all worried, messing with their health causing more harm. My phone-s are loaned out to people for short term  use if they need a phone while on a short trip, snow storm travel etc. I loan my phone out to who I can trust for their safety. These people I loan a phone out to do not need the harassment of this INC. Besides there is a law that states for any collector they are not to call if told not to. Continuous calls are to be reported and record of them with police or other government agencies.  Also, even on a loaned out phone and calls are made to it especially an elderly taking calls need to report it or file a complaint with the DA and/or,FCC  these calls are not meant for them/seniors to worry about. It is harassing.

Get a disposable cell phone and use it for it where you don't want your contact to always be known, can change the number often on one of these. Use your main cell for the other calls, make sure you are on the do not call list for your protection for all phones. If called robot or otherwise get the info and turn it in and you can get a lump settlement for breach of calling.

this woman (Camren) called and wanted to talk to my husband (she knew his first name).  I asked what it was about and she said, "are you his wife?" - I said "yes" - she said "oh, I could talk to you, what is your name?" - I told her that I didn't want to go get my husband unless she told me what this was about" - she again asked for MY name.  I hung up!

forgot to say -- if this is a debt collector, WE ARE NOT IN DEBT!  guessing it is a scam!

It's expensive for companies to hire debt collectors. It doesn't sound right to me that any doctor is going to pay a debt collector for a $12 or $19 debt. Be careful. In my opinion, if they were a real company, their caller ID wouldn't be "unknown." I wouldn't trust it. Plus, I don't owe anyone money, so I don't know why they'd be calling me. I'll never answer this number.

I had a DC try to collect a $10.00 debt from me once.  Unfortunately for him, the Doctor happened to be 1700 miles from my house.  And he didn't tell me that he was recording the conversation until half way through, a violation of the wiretap laws.
But some doctors will try to collect small amounts, if they figure they have a lot of them it adds up after while.  If it is a real debt collection agency, they will send you the following:
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

got call but did not answer because of it showing as an unknown 800 number. If this is an actual debt collector as some have said on this thread then they would leave an actual message for a return phone call. I've had 3 debt collectors trying to collect on the same medical bill I paid at hospital when I went and even had receipt showing paid. After the 100th time going to hospital and showing them their receipt I gave up. I have receipt put up when needed if it shows on credit report.

Never pay these phone collection notice calls ! They don't work for the people you owe money to. Most are illegal scams or they have bought information to try to collect on a debt that has been wrote off

I been getting phone calls all the time. But I don't answer because i'm already paying some money to one of the collections company. Due to my health I will be owing them money till I die.

Odds are if you get a call from this number... you are in debt, don't care, are on medicaid... and most likely a piece of [***].
