Received a suspicious call from this number.  Claiming tobe Medical Business Bureau.  How do they know I am hospitalized.  Be careful with number.

left a recorded message on my cell phone with a return number to an 800 number....I returned the call and some guy with a foreign accent wanted me to confirm my ssan before telling me about something "business related"  argued with me when I refused to give him my # and finally said,  "if you don't confirm your number we cant continue with this proceeding" reminded him that his "company" had originally called me, and I returned his call as a courtesy. but I stated "that's fine with me" and hung up.  he would not share any details about his "company" or his "business" with me..............sounded like a scam to me!

Got a call on cell, while cellphone was off. Didn't leave message. Looked it up  and put on REJECT  cellphone list.

I actually was on my credit report and found a $50 bill owed. I googled a number and called. Then they told me I owe more than $50. I asked them to send me a statement which they said they cannot. I also told them i wanted to call dr to check if i owe this before i blindly pay. she put me on hold and came back and said she checked and yes i owe this. laughable. i may owe money but whether this is real or a scam they clearly don't know what they are doing and i told them i will not give them any money until i get something in writing showing what i owe for. now they are calling me. if this is a legit company they need to get their stuff straight because they sound like idiots or pranksters on the phone.

I got a call from that number too, (800) 438-8146 I told them I was a detective investigating a case on the person they were calling, and what there association with him was, they ask if he can call them back, I told them there is no way he would ever be able to and hung up.

Person gave me his name as Alister, said he was collecting a debt for a bill that had been paid in full. He had record of payments made but said he had nothing recent. I didn't deal with or talk to anyone ever from that company and how he got what info he had was strange, but never in debt collection to my knowledge. I refused to give him anything and directed him to his client, never mentioning who I knew it to be, since his info was incomplete. I believe it to be a scam since I just became party by notification they had my number on file with a similar debt collector in a class action suit filed against UCB Debt Collection for improper practices. Somehow my information is being obtained by collectors I have never had to deal with and I must figure this out.

I received a call just now from 800-438-8146.  As soon as I answered, the telemarketer on the other end addressed me by name and told me he was calling about a "personal business matter".  He then asked for my date of birth and told me that I couldn't give me any information until I gave him my date of birth.  I assured him that there was no way I was giving out my DOB and asked him serveral more questions around the purpose of his call.  He said that he couldn't tell me what the purpose of his call was but wanted me to know that he actually knew my date of birth but couldn't give me information until I verified it to him verbally since the information was sensitive and personal.

There actually is a website for the Medical Business Bureau and it looks like a third party collections company however I zero outstanding payments to my healthcare provider. Sounds like a scam.

I block the number they call from and at another time, they will call from a different number

Thank God my phone has a "reject call" feature for these type of harassment calls. Otherwise, I would be "going nuts" due to the repeated calls

just called here now. asked my date of birth AND my social security number. i laughed and said '' what? are you crazy?'' and hung up. would not give ANY info as to what they wanted and said medical bureau? have had no need for medical ''anything''. nothing outstanding anyplace. he also was hesitant in presenting his phone pitch. i smell scam. NO company I know or business just cold calls, and asks you to GIVE your social out over the phone. if you actually HAD had an outstanding bill from somewhere? like a doctors office. hospital etc. when you GO there they already have this info from you providing it on the paper work you fill out in the beginning, etc. and your date of birth as well.

I had the same as everybody else on here. I reported them to www.donotcall.gov I suggest that everyone here does the same.  The more complaints the government gets the more serious they take this nasty idiots.

Some collection agency. They barely speak English...some hatians or something. Told them to never call again as they have the wrong person. Told them next time they call they will get my attorney!!!

Identified themselves as medical business bureau.  Requested D/O/B, I declined to give it to them.  I said you can talk to me without that information and he said "No" and hung up on me.

Debt collectors are only allowed to verify your name when calling you. They are not allowed to ask for any personal information like your dob or ssn.

Called up but left no message. Caller ID has them as 'Medical Business'.

I got a call from an person name Craig. He asked me for my DOB. I refused and he hung up on me. Later I called the number asking for Craig told me he was not available, so I asked for a floor manager the person transfered me to a [***] Asian speaking female guess from indian and her name was Samantha Peters. She just got me on my nervous by asking the same whole thing (DOB) she doesn't have any etics to work in whatever she was trying to tell me. She seem to be a cheap [***] with a [***] up attitude. I am forwarding this company details to the BBB. Such people really screw up the organisation.
