- X replies to cscnd| 1 replyIF THIS IS SO, THEN WHY ARE THEY GOING TO YOUR HOME AND TAKING PICTURES? WHAT HAPPENED TO SNAIL MAIL? IS THIS FORM OF COMMUNICATION SO OUT OF DATE THAT THEY NEED TO SEND COURIERS TO YOU DOOR. GET REAL WHAT'S A BIG FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS GAIN BY THIS PROCESS NOTHING!!! THIS WHOLE THREAD IS FULL OF SHILLS AND LIARS
- JBIt is legitimate. We are in the process of foreclosure on our home. This is our second one we have gotten since filing bankruptcy. This time we were home. The lady gave us the notice and took a picture of the house. She said it was to verify occupancy. The number directs you to a mortgage assistance rep for Chase. We gave up the house in our bankruptcy and are just waiting for the foreclosure to go through.
I am sure there are similar things to this that are scams...best way to disguise a scam is for it to match the real thing but this oneis legitimate...if you are getting these notices it means you are behind on your mortgage.- Caller: JP Morgan Chase

- Homeowner in MDI was in the front yard of the house we bought a year ago as a foreclosure. We bought it from an affiliate of JP Morgan Chase (Home Sales, Inc.) who bought it at auction from previous owner after they defaulted on a refinance with JP Morgan Chase. We do not have a mortgage with them, and the person who showed up late on a Saturday and was taking pics of of whole family while we were doing yard work, asked for that previous owner. She told me to call the number but you need an account number. Something fishy must be going on. I have my title insurance guy looking at it now.
- Caller: JP Morgan Chase
- Homeowner in MD replies to XExactly. Even when I told the woman that the guy she was looking for no longer owned the house (for at least 2 years) she still took pictures to verify "owner occupancy!" I asked what kind of inspection she was trying to do on a sunday evening, she said to call that number. This despite my claim that I didn't have an account with JP Morgan Chase. So how do I call without an account number?!
I'm afraid that their record keeping won't reflect that this was sold at auction years ago, and they will try to foreclose. Despite the fact that they have no claim on this house! - Homeowner in MD replies to Fam02Did you ever find out what was going on? I'm tring to figure out if there is a way to stop them from harassing us since we dont have a JP Morgan Zchase mortgage, and never did!
- SeattleI think why they are taking your photo is so if you do fall for the scam now they have your social, account number and your photo. There would be no stopping them now from making a fake ID with your picture.
- Brett replies to Fam02They were taking photos of my house too! I dont like this AT ALL.
- Gin replies to kkI have received the same letter twice ... always when I'm not home. And no call from Chase? I don't understand what's going on .. I don't want to call the number and give info out and then find out all my info has been used in identity theft.
Went to the online Chase.com and didn't see the number anywhere ... - AnnoyedTo anyone that actually thinks JPMorgan Chase would randomly stick a note on your door before calling or sending a letter in the mail, you are a total idiot. They would never do that. This is a total scam.

- OH HomeownerJust called Chase - the # from the website. The man told me to take this to the local branch & have them send it to corporate. With no reference #, it is not a Chase #.
- JRGot the 1800.446.8939 info and envelope hung on my front door knob. Didn't see who did it. We are in a community that has posted signs...NO SOLICITING. Needless to say they are violating this warning. I have reported them to our Association. I am recently widowed and am fearful of scams like this. The name on the paper was. JP MORGAN CHASE. It was written in English as well as Spanish.
- Caller: JP MORGAN CHASE
- AndrewsThis is NOT a scam. It is an assistance program through Chase. The PT Cruiser taking pictures of your home was someone from Chase. They have to come out and take pictures of the property once your loan falls past due. We had a $14 "misc" charge on our account. It was from them sending someone out to take a picutre of the property to make sure it was still in good condition. They do not let you know in advance they are coming to take them. They took a picture of our house and we were only 1 payment behind. I spoke with Mr. Green in Louisville (the corporate office, not customer care).

- SomeoneThis is COMPLETE SCAM! And I have figured out the source. I recently posted my resume online and got a job offer through email. I was intrigued and decided to go ahead and apply. After doing so it states that you need to take a exam. This position was for property inspector. After reading the material that a junior high student could comprehend. I took the exam and of course received a response within minutes stating I had only missed one and 95% of people miss that question. A couple of the last questions were a little sketchy and got me thinking maybe it isn’t a legit company. But anyways I got a call within minutes as well and spoke with someone who immediately told me I got the job. Also, thinking this was sketchy I continued to listen as the man really didn’t explain anything in particular. Just kind of rambled. After getting off the phone with him I went back to the website. http://texomafieldservices.com/index.html On the website it does not state an physical address or even P.O. Box for that matter. Finally I went back through some of the reading material and found that information about "JP Morgan Chase" Phone #: "1-800-446-8939.” So I thought well I will call that number and see if they have any information about this company… I mean they are suppose to be in business together right. Of course I got the same thing SS# or account #. No operator. In this job description this is what you do…drive by inspections. You got to peoples homes that they give you. Take picture and hang the “door hangers”. Don’t be mad at the people hanging or taking picture because they are being scammed to.

- DJ replies to JIt is not a phishing scam. I received one today and called Chase immediately. I was having some difficulty due to the passing of my wife and I just entered into a repayment plan. This was in fact sent by has as verified by the operator, but it was sent in error since the request to place it on my door came prior to my calling to set up the repayment. If you do receive one, you can contact Chase to verify. However, it is very much legitimate.
- susanThe ppl leaving the notes are called field property inspectors. They are just doing their job, probably trying to pay their own mortgage. If the home is in foreclosure or banckruptcy, they are NOT supposed to talk to the home owner, because they could run across a crazy pissed off consumer! They have no financial information, they are just given a job to leave the notice, and take pics of the property. They are contracted out by a company that does inspections like this and also for insurance loss. They are just the messenger, thats probably getting paid 5 or 10 bucks to do it.
- Jimbo replies to MikeLNo. I got the same thing and took it to a Chase branch and they said it was not from them. Every correspondence with Chase is on official letterhead. I received four or five of them and turned theem over to my lawyer. I got an other one today and I close on my house tomorrow. My lawyer has been in constant contact with Chase so the number is from some parasite. I will not give any information. If you get a call from Chase they go through two or three minutes of disclosure stuff.
- Jimbo replies to Bruce SogoloffIt is a scam. I tried to refinance aand the ordeal is lengthly.
