No where in the FDCPA does it say that you can only call a number once.Actually the FDCPA says no more than 10 calls to any one number. If they have our home, business and a cell that would mean they could call 30 x's legally in one day, 10 x's to 1 number. And the FDCPA is only for collections. Also, since Wells Fargo is collecting on their debt they are not legally bound by the FDCPA. They do however choose to follow most of it. It is an incorrect statement to say they call more than 8 times a day or repeadely call a # to harass is incorrect. If a representative did such the rep. would be fired, this is not tolerated. Other reps would notice and turn them in for this abuse. If you have records and believe what you are saying than send them in addressed to management. Also, if you miss a payment then they have every right to call and collect, you broke a written contract that you signed. And you knowingly breech this contract twice according to you. This would make you a higher risk. You would be the one that loses their job, or get a car payment that makes your budget very tight so you quit paying your credit cards. If you don't like their collection practices you have 2 options. 1. close your account and pay it off. 2. Don't go past due. Stop living beyonds your means and you would not have someone else to blame.

this would definatly make them verify employment and look into possible legal action. You are better off all around by remembering there is a person on the other end of the line. If you want to be treated with respect than treat the person on the other end of the line as one. You made this mess not them.

These crazy people called me today at 6:46am!  I don't even have an account with them.  When they called two days ago, I asked them politely to stop calling.  Today I asked to speak to a supervisor, who said, "Oh, I think we got signals crossed," when asked why they are calling me at 6:46 in the morning.  What?  How is harrassing a family who doesn't do business with you and breaking the law of not soliciting before 9am "crossed signals"?  When I asked him what the heck that meant, he couldn't answer me.  And that was the guy who claimed to run the place, named Tim in the Sioux Falls, South Dakota office.  I asked him for Wells Fargo Financial's headquarters where I could file a formal complaint and he would not give me that information, telling me instead to write HIM a letter complaining about HIS office.  What a joke!  Then he whined that he "didn't deserve" having to take the complaint. WAAAAH!  So your office calls someone who doesn't even do business with you at 6:46 in the morning and YOU'RE not being treated fairly?  What an idiot!  I will never, ever do business with Wells Fargo Financial, ever!

There are some poor folk in the world Curby.

And circumstances arise that are beyond peoples control. Wake up and open your eyes!

I understand you work for a collection company and you think you are all that, but in reality you are nothing.

Working for a collection agency has to be the lowest job on the planet. I know I wouldnt do it even it paid six figures. lol

Wells Fargo Financial...calls several times a day (weekends and all) from different phone numbers including this one and (800) 947-5024. Usually a robocall voice, sometimes a person leaving a message, sometimes no message at all. I've put them all into my cell phone call reject.

I have an account with Wells Fargo and the total bill is 22.50, it is due on the 11th.  They call 5 - 10 times a day, I am going to call them back and tell them to close the account, I will do business with creditors that do not harrass you.

I totally agree. They have about 1000 different numbers that Wells Fargo calls from. It doesn't matter if you make a payment or talk to someone they still call starting at 8am till 9pm every half hour. I just turned off the phone. When I asked them for assistance they told me that they had already helped me (which they only waived a late fee) for the financial hardship program therefore there was nothing they could do to help me now. I was one of those people who was suckered into a subprime loan then into a very high interest rate loan with Wells Fargo. So I went to an attorney yesterday and started the process for filing Chapter 13 bankruptcy. If they arent willing to work with me to lower my interest rate or restructure my loan then they can deal with the trustee. It is insane how much they call - ALL THE TIME. I agree that we should pay our bills but sometimes it isnt possible with everything that is going on. We our lucky to eat at times. If anyone files a Class Action Suit please include me. I'm in.

Just to inform everyone if you are being sent letters by a collection agency and phone calls that are harrasing and you have asked at least once to stop calling they are in violation of the federal law. google search a cease and decisst letter and fillin the blanks send it certified mail to the collector and you will not hear from them again.. id does not so;ve the debt problem but does better the life that you have. in todays economy things happen but learn from them.. cut up the cards.. to heck with creditors. Go back to cash.. and remember if you are paying less amonth than the interest you might as well just quit paying them. until they will work with you,

Once and a while I get calls from them.  My old girlfriend has some sort of loan through them and I am not involved in it at all, evidently for some reason she gave them my number as another contact number for her, I did try last time I got a lot of calls from them a few months ago to get my number removed and thought i did but evidently I did not, I am sure they think I am just lying so get the calls to stop but I am not.  Anything I can do besides change my cell phone number, I have had the same number for years and I do not want to have to change it over this.

    Thanks

Problem is, they just keep calling. I'm getting this now because I am going through adebt consolidation. Best thing is, answer, tell them you will get the cash, get their name and number and then in my case anyway, let the consolidation company know this.
But, they do just keep calling. In a few days time, I told them twice now what was up, and they called again. and they will again and again and again for a very long time.

My husband's position at work got cut so he had to take a $8/hour cut in pay. My hours at work got cut as well. All I have it my house payment thru Wells Fargo. I currently have my house up for sale and we have moved in with my father in law who has alzheimers. I have tried to work with them but have had no luck. They call me 8-10 times a day. I can't answer when I am at work obviously, and have now quit answering at home too. I am behind a little on my payment, but I'm doing my best. I have 2 kids at home that need food and school activities to be paid for. They refuse to help me or work with me. I have been a good and faithful customer for 15 years now and was never late on a payment until the job problems. I don't know what to do with these people anymore!

Apparently you are out of touch with reality.  Through absolutly no fault of my own I have now lost over 50% of my income. I was not living beyond my means.  So if you have never had to struggle then your day is past due.  Do not condem others when you could be in their shoes tomorrow!  Our government should have bailed us out and not the banks.  Apparently they have more than sufficient funds to keep all of their employees paid. It takes a truely evil person to work in collections, no heart, mind or soul!

If it was so important to call between 8 and 16 times a day, then one would think that leaving a message as to the reason for that call would be the natural response to someone not answering the phone.  In these cases it is harassment, plain and simple.  Wells Fargo is well known in the credit community as a company that harasses people for being as little a 3 days late on a payment.  Considering they are one of the banks that has received TARP funds and has yet to pay that money back, they may want to ease up a bit, if for no other reason then to save face with the American people.

I to receive these calls from 8AM up to 9PM, my answering machine is on but they leave no message. I called them and ask them to put me on the hardship program do to loss of income and they refused to do it!! The person I was speaking to made no sense on what she was telling me. Now get this, she told me that if she was to put me on this program it would put me in the hole every month in the sum of $1,600.00!!! She said do to my circumstances she can not do it!! Now they get the money when I have it.  Everyone who is having a hard time with Wells Fargo should file a complaint with the main Banking Industry who handles these complaints.
WELLS FARGO needs to work with their customers not against them!!!
