- KALGThis number is legitimate but it has been spoofed by account services to remove all card debt. Credit card scammers are desperate enough to spoof the real companies and attempt to scam unsuspecting folks. If you don't have a USAA account, treat this number as an attempt to get your credit card number "to verify your debt". USAA does not cold call nonmembers. Beware and your best bet is to ignore or block this number.

- CrissCallied and said I had fraudulent charges on my account. I hung up called the number back and the machine did say USAA but I hung up and called them from the number in the website
- JessCalled stating my USAA card had been compromised. They had the last 4 of the card, my address and name. They sounded very realistic. The guy had no accent, said he was with fraud prevention, and was polite and well spoken. He asked if I had been out of state to TX. I said no.. he rattled off 3 high dollar "attempted charges" and said we needed to issue me a new card. He then asked for my PASSWORD and I said you mean my 4 digit PIN? He said no, the password I use to login. I immediately knew this wasn't USAA. I told him I dont give that to USAA on the phone. He stated he was sorry if he was making me uncomfortable but I could call and verify he worked with USAA and assured me he was legit because he was calling from their number (while this is a USAA number, he stated he was with the fraud department, and the number is for insurance). He pushed that a few times. I said, I'll call back I'm feeding my son and he's a little fussy and I can't really do this now. He then said he'd lock my accta for me to prevent further initiations on my acct and I could call him back on the number he called from. I hung up. I immediately went to the website and called the fraud number from USAA. The REAL rep said nothing was wrong with my acct and it was a good thing I was vigilant. Don't be fooled. If you unsure at all, hang up and call USAA back on their website numbers.

- USAA CustomerI've been with USAA for probably 3-4 years now and have even gotten my credit card info stolen while traveling. Recently I've been getting scam calls from people disguising their number as USAAs. They told me they were from fraud prevention (isn't what they call their fraud center) and when on a long story about charges and then asked for the expiration date on my card at which point I said no and he hung up. This same guy has been calling for about 2 weeks like 4 times a day. Like I said my card info was stolen before and not once did USAA call me saying it was suspicious. I didnt find out till I look at my account which I do everyday and seen the charges listed and pending and so I called. They held the transaction and I also got an email and notification in the app about suspicious charges. The phony charges the guy said were on my card we not listed in my account. USAA will not berate you with calls. If there is actually something wrong with your account you will be able to see it in your accounts and will get emails and notifications they may even stop your card (can't remember if they did that for me). Wait till you see something in your account or get a notification in your app.

- SteveReceived text saying my credit card had been used fraudulently. I don’t deal with Usaa. Then received call about same thing asking what bank I used. I told them it’s none of their business. The phone they were using was breaking up badly. I then cussed this guy out and he cussed me back & threatened me. I don’t think a legitimate business would act that way. I informed usaa of this & they have no info of me ever doing business with them.
