- Blake BeckmanJust got a call from this number asking about my "consumer loan" The recording said my name and asked if they were speaking to me. I pushed 1 to confirm they were speaking to me. The phone rang and then recording just said "i didnt get that. So would you like to pay that now?" I didnt say anything so it would repeat the question. It said "so would you like to pay that now?" Sounds weird and not legit.

- USAA memberCall tried to sound like they were USAA notifications telling us about an unauthorized use on our debt card. They did not sound like USAA and we said we would call them back. We called the real USAA, our debt card was in the process of someone trying to add it to Apple Pay. But since we didn’t give any personal information they were unable to scam our card. USAA fixed everything and sent us a new card. Always call USAA if it even seems just a little suspicious.

- JoanneRecieved 2 calls from this number at 6 am. They did not refer to my husband as sgt but knew all our account info. They changed our pins with automated text messages. We called USAA right back and were told they had no record of a call but that there were fraudulent charges made to our account, we changed everything.
Per USAA hang up and call them back.- Caller: USAA

- LauraI just received a text first then a telephone call from the 800-531-8722. Claiming there were suspicious transactions on my account in Florida. I told them none of the transactions were mine - then they started asking me for information like cell phone number, etc.... I said no and they hung on me. I called USAA and it was NOT them.

- S_YThis is not USAA, they are spoofing USAA's number as others have said- so it appears on your caller ID as USAA's phone number. The scammer even had two contact numbers for us, so they must have obtained our information some how. This is a new type of scam, where the scammer calls USAA acting as you, while you're on the other line. They attempt to obtain your information and then provide it to the real USAA rep on their other line, so they can access your bank account. We know this, as we so stupidly provided one piece of information and recieved a security text from USAA, the rep kept insisting we confirm the text was recieved. We got a weird feeling, hung up and called USAA directly. USAA confirmed, someone was attempting to access the account. Do not give out information.

- LenaThis number keeps calling me every day during the day and at 7pm, 9pm and 9:30pm at night which USAA would NEVER do, and on weekends too. There is no plus sign in front. It is a number that MASKS USAA’s number. I believe one of the numbers they call from is 1-800-531-0623. I called back once and it sounded like ISAA but someone answers and asks you for your member number etc. when you call USAA itself, the phone already knows it is you calling and you only enter your pin. When I answered the 1-800-531-8722 number sometimes they do not speak oenthere is a pause before someone finally speaks. They provide an employee number to make it sound legitimate and tell you they are calling from USAA. When I told them USAA had my attorney’s number on file and so they needed to talk to my attorney they insisted they did not have any documentation on file and could not speak to my attorney because there was no attorney information on file and no power of attorney. They told me they could only hold calling off for three days and would continue to call me. I finally told them if they call me again at 9pm I would sue them, and hanged up. Masking numbers is becoming more common these days and someone can mask any number pretending to be your friends or relatives so you will answer the phone. This is a SCAM. Tell the, you already spoke to USAA and the matter has been resolved,

- ANNOYED| 1 replyAll,
Thank you for sharing your experiences, I've been getting calls several times a day from this number. At this point, I've talked to USAA, and I am very confident that this a spoofed call and is not USAA calling. The scammers also never leave message. In my experience, when USAA calls, they almost always leave a brief message with who's calling, why, and who to call back. If they ask you to call back any number other than their publicly listed numbers, that is definitely a red flag.
If you received a call from this number, it is all possible that USAA is legitimately trying to call you for whatever reason, but we cannot discount the fact that it could be someone trying to deceive you.
Looks like USAA is also aware of these scams, and are warning members to stay vigilant. See links below from USAA, various warnings, how to identify, avoid, and report suspicious calls.
Stay vigilant.

- Annoyed39 calls in 30 days. Desperate scammers. Terrorist fundraiser? FBI should be investigating.I never answer.
- Tired of nuisance callsCalled 4 times in two days and left message to call them regarding my card. Tried to return call and got USAA but the automated system kept asking for an extension number which they never gave me. Decided it can't be important so I am done with the BS.

- ANNOYED replies to ANNOYEDLooks like the Cons are back at it again... 800-531-8722 is technically a legit number for USAA, but the caller may be a Con trying to fool you with a spoofed number, trying to trick you into thinking this is a legitimate call. I've been with USAA for a long time, and the times they do call are few and far in between. Anyway, this number has been calling about 3-4 times a day for the past week or so, and maybe 1 voicemail, asking to call a different number, 800-531-0479. A voicemail left by a computer (though they're getting better at making it sound more human), left one message about a supposed about a change in my account status, and that I should call back 800-531-0479. I suppose the point is that while most will ignore these calls, enough people fall victim, making this a profitable and valuable tool for Cons trying to get yo money. When in doubt, ignore it. If it's really USAA, and if it's really that important, they'll leave you a real message or call you back. Stay vigilant my friends.
- JkSimilar to other callers, message said it was USAA with an urgent message but when I called their main number instead of this one, they had no record of calling me from any of their products. I’ve been getting multiple calls and messages from this number.
