- DaleThey hung up on me when I asked him if he could speak english after he asked me if I spoke spanish. I called the number back and got a recording. I chose number 2 to have my number removed from their system. I hope it works. I am on the donotcall list. I am tired of telemarketers calling. What else can a person do to get these calls stopped?
- Caller: TRC Survey
- Have some fun with themJust have some fun with them. When they ask you a question, make some silly [***] up. Like, do you have a phone system? Say no, I am talking on a cup with string attached to it and the string is 20lb test. Or just start screaming and crying and tell them you are going into labor or you just sat on one of your hemorrhoids. Of course, you can only do this if you have time other wise just tell them to stop F@#$King calling you.

- NicholasThis number came up on my CELL PHONE. This is the second call TODAY... ironically once at work and then on my cell phone. I would really like to know why this toll-free number can't be taken from them. At this point, I feel that this company is harrassing me. I am on PAROLE, and cannot have any issues. I am in a position where if I contact law enforcement over crap like this, I go back to prison for a parole violation... for having contact with law enforcement. I wish I was a hacker... then I can start to get these idiots back... one by one for harrassing people. Obviously, I am NOT the only person dealing with this. Law enforcement never goes after these guys.

- Roz SleighI have my phones (land line & cell)but I receive calls from this number, 800 552-9841. I read that posts regarding others who receive calls & apparently it's a marketing research company. Why don't they have to abide by the Do Not Call listing?
- r wGot a call from this number, and they must have recorded me or something, Because I answered my phone out of sleep thinking it was a call I was expecting. I Say "hello, hello", and after a few seconds it play a recording of me saying "hello, hello". Either that or they have some kind of voice mimic that is darn good. Its creepy to hear myself reply "hello hello" like that. Now these Creeps have my voice on file, hope that doesn't come back to haunt me some how, like stolen identity. Has this happen to any one else?

- ohiophoneWe received hang up all the time from this number. I finally removed our phone number today. Their website lists 215-641-2200 to call. You will just be redirected to this phone number 800-552-9841.
I called the number, and was finally given the option of taking our phone number off of the list. I hope it works! I do not understand why they don't have to abide by the 1-880 do not call list?!- Call type: Survey
- JuniorThey called and like every telemarketer trying to say you won something or other. Well on the third time they called I picked up the phone and with a convincing tone said I was the city sheriff and they never bothered me again.

- AliCalled tonight at 8:41pm! I didn't answer, they let the answering machine run without saying anything. I called the 1-800 number back, pressed 2 on the phone to be removed from their calling list. What happened to not calling after 8pm? Whether they are selling something or not, they should have to follow the same rules as the telemarketers...no calls after 8pm. This is the first call I've gotten in months, knew it couldn't last forever. :(

The caller ID reads Toll Free Call- Caller: 1-800-552-9841
- AnnoyedThey've called about a 30+ times over the past year. It's the Police Protection (or Protective) Fund. They are complete scam artists that hide behind a 501c (non-profit) designation; which apparently allows them to continue to badger you for money. Each time we have told them we are on the DO NOT CALL LIST and to remove us from their database, each time they get extremely rude and say things like “we’re charity workers”. There are numerous articles about their unscrupulous activities posted on the web by various government agencies and consumer advocate groups:

FYI PEOPLE – local police and fire departments do not endorse these types of organizations, nor do any government first responders (State or Fed). Last time we told them if they call again we will file a complaint with the FCC; they called again and I filed a complaint with the FCC. Below is the link on how to do it:

- Runner. They are Pod People! They can tell by the way you answer if you are part of the collective or not. Then they come to your house at night when you're asleep, and absorb you into the collective.
Then something that looks like you wakes up in the morning... But it's not you! What ever you do, don't answer that phone! And if you do answer; don't fall asleep!- Call type: Survey

- Lynn replies to pissedoffBest way to avoid these calls is to see if your phone provider has a call reject option. I use a Voice Over Internet provider and they offer many features with one of the best being selective call rejection. I don't know if the regular phone companies offer this. I have 42 numbers on my reject list as of today. My cell phone provider also has a call reject function. All I do is check here at 800notes when I get an unknown call and if I get info that is is an annoying company I add to my list.
I am also on the Do Not Call lists. The DNC registration for state and federal seems to be a joke. It was great at first but now seems to do no good at all. I guess no one was fined much for violations so now it doesn't matter to the scum bags if you are on the lists. Only way to make the list have teeth is to inforce the rules and hit them where it hurts... in the pocket with big, big fines! - LynnI just received a call from TRC. I have now put them on my call reject list that my VOIP service provider offers. I now have a total of 42 numbers on that list! I never answer a number I don't recognize and then check the info here at 800notes. What a great web site!!!! If the reports are bad, most are, I put them on my reject list. Most VOIP offers this feature. I don't know about the land line phone companies. My cell provider also offers this service. I really hate getting calls on my cell from people I don't know. Have plenty of minutes available but it is annoying.

Best way I know to avoid the hassle of calls you do not want is always use caller ID to check the number before answering. If you don't recognize the name or number don't answer. If a person doesn't leave a message the call must not be very important.
As I said before DNC list is totally useless. You have to protect yourself because no one in a position of power is going to do anything for you.- Caller: TRC
