- kcftballfan| 9 repliesI had the same thing happen. Who is this company?
- SteveThe same thing happened to me shortly after a "friend" signed me up to get a "free" sample of some Total Cleanse diet pills. I called the company and supposedly cancelled everything, but I just found another charge from 800-634-7500 for $19.95. I'm going to try to call the number tomorrow and if all else fails report it to my bank as a fraudulent charge.
- SteveMore complaints about the company "UMG Simply Mine":
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/353/RipOff0353354.htm - Steve
- SteveAnd more, this from the BBB:
http://chicago.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.aspx?site=46&bbb=0654&firm=987 - BetsyI ordered that Total Cleanse and the Acai Berry "Free Offer" as well...I was expecting the withdrawal for the shipping and handling, but not any other charges. I know that it is only $1.00 per withdrawal, but this gets out of control...how long did you take to call to cancel Steve before they drafted the $19.95? I am going to call today!!!
Mine also just showed up with this number and 1-800-843-0894 on my bank statement. - SteveBetsy - I received two charges for $19.95 about a month after two $1 charges - One for a "Simply Mine" subscription (some kind of shopping discount service) and one for a "My Advisor" subscription (some kind of legal advice service).
I called the phone number listed on the charge and within a couple days I got a refund for all charges ($41.90 altogether) on my credit card. They also confirmed that the charges were the result of signing up for the Total Cleanse free sample (they also mentioned they do this with the Acai Berry product sample, Acai-aSlim).
I still filed a complaint with the BBB and said the company did NOT resolve my complaint to my satisfaction. They charged me without my permission for services I never heard of or ever wanted, and they would have continued to charge me if I hadn't called. I've also received at least ten times more junk email and junk postal mail from suspicious companies which started happening at the exact same time these charges appeared on my credit card, which can't be a coincidence. All of this certainly qualifies as a scam in my book.
I highly encourage all of you to file a complaint about this company through the BBB. If enough people complain maybe somebody will actually do something to stop these scam artists. And by the way, I tried the Total Cleanse pills and they were pretty much worthless.
Again, here's the link to file a complaint:

The moral of this story is never give your personal info to companies you don't know much about (not your name, not your email address, and certainly not your credit card number). Let's just say I haven't quite figured out how to get revenge on my "friend" who did this to me, but after I told him what happened he felt awful because he had no idea how bad it could be. - Steve| 1 replyOh, and one more lesson to be learned - CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENT OFTEN!!! I read some stories where these scammers charged people for months before they ever noticed.
- RRWhen Calling the 7500 number Please be sure you enter it right on the dial. I am getting many calls to my number at my business which are wrong and it gets very frustrating.
- KenCalled the number today and someone named Caitlyn (sp) politely informed me that I had signed up for a discount buyers program and "most likely" had sent in a card or letter to sign up for the program. Told her that after 4 months of charges all I've received is the bill, didn't know anything about it and want the charges credited back. She said something about a 30 day cancellation clause and I said cancel and refund now.
She said she'd issue an immediate credit and a supervisor would contact me to issue the credits for the previous 3 charges.
Notified the CC company and they are sending me a fraud report to file, along with cancelling my card and issuing a new one.

- whitney| 1 replyUMG*SIMPMINE (800.634.7500) got my information when i ordered from the "Silhouettes" catalog. i sic'ed amex on them, so i didn't lose any money or sleep over this. amex charged everything back to UMG, then blocked my card to any further charges from UMG. i did finally call and cancel my "subscription".
people, ask your cc co if your card can be blocked from charges from that merchant. if amex can do it, other cc co's should be able to also. contact your state attorney general and see if any further action can be taken, definitely file a complaint with the BBB. information is knowledge and knowledge is power. - ClaireI ordered something for my husband for Christmas from Personal Creations. Since then (Dec 2008) I have had a monthly charge of $11.99 from UMG*SIMPMINE8006347500 - I called again today (previous calls got me nowhere) and threatened to sue them if they could not provide me with the name of their company and who authorized the charges. After speaking with several representatives I asked for a manager who ended up telling me that the charged WERE AUTHORIZED BY PERSONAL CREATIONS. They credited my bank account and cancelled the future charges. Unfortunately, my husband's thoughtful Christmas gift turned out to be the worst mistake ever. DO NOT USE PERSONAL CREATIONS - you will regret it later!

- adraine| 1 replyI have also been charged from umg*mine, and I did not order anything.I donot know what this is. Have closed my acct. also ( on card)
- Barb replies to SteveThis happened to us: UMG billed us $14.95 for 11 months before my husband and I realized that neither of us knew what this was for. Thanks to this site, we called the company and after talking to four different people, finally reached one authorized to refund all of our money.
It seems that when we ordered a knife from Chef's Catalog, UMG "says" that they sent a packet of info about a "Discount Buyers' Club" including a $20 gift certificate. In order to opt out of this service, you had to return this packet along with the gift certificate. We did not GET this packet, and even if we did, in our state of Washington, this practice of signing people up automatically and requiring them to do something to opt out, is ILLEGAL. At first UMG would only agree to return five months worth of payments, however when informed of Washington's law, they agreed to return all $164.45. Yes, we all need to be more careful in checking our creditcard statements. I can't believe that Chef's knows what is going on re: this company and it's illegal practices. I left a message on their Facebook page and hope they are reading what their customers write there. - Debra replies to adraineI also was charged fraudulently on my Discover Card for 14.95 twice, once in Aug 2010 and once in Sept 2010. I had to call my credit card company and get my account closed and a new card issued because of this. I never heard of this company and never ordered anything from them. They tried to tell me that I had ordered their services and I told them I definitely had not. They still tried to get me to order their services and I said I wasn't interested. They told me they could only credit me back for one of the charges, which I don't feel is right, since I never ordered anything at all from them. My ccc is also investigating the charges and the company.
- stephI did not order anything and have a bill of $11.20. From 9/20. On the phone with my cc company now
- scamed replies to kcftballfan| 5 repliesThey are UMG MINE they took 14.95 off my debit card and I have no idea who they are or how they got my card # but I just called and they promised to refund my money within 3 to 5 working day's. I am pissed and I am going to try to put a stop to it.
- Ann S replies to kcftballfanI just noticed a charge of $1.95 on my credit card. I will chalenge this as i have not ordered anything.
I just called them and they will gladly refund my money, apparently i had signed up for something by phone, like a Walmart gift card, which i never got. - Ed| 2 repliesThere is a class action suit!
