- KevinIf you have Verizon and really want to drive these morons up a wall, here's the two things to do in your Verizon phone controls. 1- Set your account to reject all private calls. 2- Each call you get from a displayed ERC phone number, you can simply go into your Verizon account under phone log and block that number. None of those rejected calls will ever ring your telephone. They will hear a message saying you are not accepting calls. You can store up 100 rejected phone numbers. ERC has been calling me for 4 years for debts I've never had. They try to convince you that you have incurred a debt, even though they know you have not. And/or they'll tell you it may have been ID theft, but you still better pay it to save your credit. When they can't get through to your phone from their 800 number they immediately redial under 'Private' which shows up as such on your caller ID. If you have your settings as described above, it annoys the living hell out of them...lol As time goes along, you'll see their 800 number in the call log, followed the same minute or a minute later with a 'Private' call. They're so frustrated with me now, they call at 2:40AM and 3:30AM or similarly O-dark hours..lol But, since I have all their numbers blocked and private calls blocked, I the phone never rings and I sleep like a baby.

- Xx replies to WaldoCharge-off does not mean the debt is dissolved it just means they've had no contact
or an unwillingness to pay, I have a charge-off account and researched the meaning. - LMTReceived a call from this number this morning on my home land line phone. Caller ID said "Enhanced Recovery" and it was a robo call that said that I needed to call them back with the reference number they provided due to a debt I supposedly owe. I have SPOTLESS credit and have never left a bill unpaid, so I know it is a scam. I have a Panasonic brand landline phone and it has an option in the SETTINGS to block calls, which I did immediately for this number. Thanks Panasonic! And thank you everybody on this site for posting comments! Helps others to figure out if a number is legit or not.

- Thad| 1 replyI recently got a new phone with new number which I haven't given out to anyone and it wasn't long before I got calls from this number. I guess it must be for the previous holder of this number since I have no accounts in default or collection, that is if these people are even legit. Usually anyone legit will call at decent hours while also giving you something in writing and I've been at this address for decades without ever getting anything in the mail from them. I think it's time to invest in a good call blocker.
- Caller: Who Really Knows?
- BigA replies to ThadI have already posted everything you need to know at the top of this page. Send them a certified, return receipt cease and desist letter. You can find samples at the CFPB site which i provided a link too and you can also make a complaint against these people. They will continue to call until you send them that letter. No doubt that is why the previous owner no longer has that number.

- BillyRecently received 4 calls from REC, a debt collection agency asking if I wanted to make payment of $245. 00 owed to Com Cable. Have no clue who com cable is. Found no such company and no real information for REC. I advised not call me again and if they called again I would be reporting them to the FCC.
