So thankful for 800notes.com  . . . I look up any and ALL numbers that call my number these days. Thank goodness for caller ID as well!! There is so much of this scamming going on these days. It seems to be getting WORSE! 1) I never answer a call where I do not recognize the number. 2) Same for emails . . never open anything I do not recognize. I research first . . block the numbers and email addresses. Also I report every scam I get (phone and email) to the US Attorney General's Office, FTC, FCC and local Police. There is an ongoing investigation since 2003 by the USAGO involving these scammers!! Google their website . . it's shocking how much scam is out there. Wish they'd get it this under control.

Phishing, lower credit card rate from "the company that runs Visa and Mastercard and also offers other cards like Sears and Home Depot."  I wasted a few minutes of her time before telling her I hoped she got "hit by a [***] truck", then sat silent for a few minutes while she hung there going "Hello? Hello?"  I don't feel the need to be nice to these vermin.

Calls my alarm dialer over and over. Guess they like hearing the time and temperature and alarm status, because I doubt my alarm system is taking out credit cards. Hmmm...maybe it's become sentient? Regardless, the number has been blocked.

My caller ID displayed this number.  I didn't recognize it, so I picked up and immediately disconnected the call.  This is a good tactic, because legitimate callers call back; scammers never do.

Recording said Visa card. The guy came on and could barely speak English.
Credit  card companies do not call people like this. The thieves can get into the phone number systems of actual cc companies. Do not give any information.  Contact the company and they will tell you. They do not call people. I’ve even told by 2 legitimate cc companies. They do not call you.
