- DeenI rec'd the same call yesterday introduced himself as Courtney Lister and he is with Resort Equity Marketing, and someone is interested in buying my resort. Long story short, he called me again today and I returned his call. A female answered and laughed (probably thinking sucker) and she pout Courtney Lister on the phone. I asked him what do I need to do. He said pay the upfront fee of $699.00 which is "of course 100% refundable" yeah right I was thinking to myself. He continued and "IF" we find a buyer or renter. I thought "IF", he just told me he had a buyer. So I then I called the corporate office of the place which I bought my resort from. They have never heard of this company or person. It is mostly likely a scam they said. I gave them the info I had on this Lister person. Not only does he call you by phone, they also solict through the mail. The Bureau Consumer Affairs is the office that you should report this to. Oh and don't let his beautiful website fool you. The only ones that will be fools are those that give up their personal information.

- Jen replies to Cris| 10 repliesThanks, for the information. I looked up the 800# for a friend and saw all this info about this number. She owns a time share in Orlando as well and was quoted a offer to good to be true. But, only if she put down $699.00 and return check within 180 days. She almost fell for it as well..
- MarkCaller stated they could get $3000 per week for renting my timeshare. I'm new to this game. I just purchased my timeshare in June and I most likely won't use it this year, so I was interested, but didn't commit. I called a friend in the business and he indicated I should proceed with caution. Since he is in the business, he was careful to not bash them directly. I have not had a bad experience myself, but reading the entries below makes me wonder... Oh, by the way, they did ask for money up front.

- Andrew| 2 repliesI received Two call from a person identifying herself a Karen from REM, asking me if I want to rent or sell my timeshare. She said that I can get approximately $1,500 to rent it, or between, approximately $16,000 to $19,000 to sell it. Is this a scam? Has any body contacted the attorney in their state related to these calls, or the local authorities, or FBI

The current website they're giving is rem2rent.com - Sunsetgold| 1 replyReceived a call from the 800-672-7034, then a return call from 321-282-0600. Her name is Leslie Carter. She told me REM could sell my FL timeshare for 35K or rent my weeks for 3500/week. I'm so glad I googled and found these sites warning of scams.
- Karen replies to SunsetgoldThanks to everyone for replying to this, we were contacted last night regarding renting our rci points for $3000.00. We took the number and said that we would talk it over and call them back. 1 (800) 672-7034 ext 244 - Michael Brooks REM2RENT.COM. Thanks to your replies I will not be calling them back.
- Gloria-Dec.12 2008| 1 replyReceived two different calls from 2 different persons @ 2 different numbers interested in renting or selling my timeshare. One was Jennier Johnson from Equitable Marketing @ 800-672-7034 and the other was from Gary Mayer from Resort Equity Marketing @ 619-444-9300 or caller ID number = 888-921-8733. He wanted $699 up front to sell my timeshare which was guaranteed to sell within 180 days or he would rent it for 18-2300/wk.
I,m not sure what the fee for rental was. The whole deal had an odor about it given the economy of the day. Please investigate. I certainly will not be calling him back nor do I think he will call me back. Perhaps I'll receive a call from another person in a couple of days- Caller: Resort Equity Marketing

Own in Canmore, AB The deal is $995 US for them upfront to register the condo for rent or to sell. The 180 days also came in to play. I had asked for more info and was given thier website. The old adage is coming into play I believe, it sounds to good to be true. I think I'll stay away.- Caller: REM
