- from New HampshireJennifer Johnston left a hard-to-hear-clearly message on our machine yesterday saying time share properties like ours are in high corporate demand and are moving quickly...we could earn a big profit. Haven't called her back and may not knowing this number has so many people wondering whether they are scam artists or not.

- LeeI received a call yesterday around 5:04pm from 321-282-0600 stating that they are with REM her name was Bobbi she asked that I call her back @ 800-672-7034x233 the could sell my property for 22,000.00 if I gave them $899.00. She said that they would call me back within 3days to see what I decide on. If this is a scam they should be ashamed of themselves... I wonder how they received your information anyway?

- Gene Carrothers replies to AndrewCheck this out... I was contacted by REM a couple of weeks ago.. Wasn't interested in selling. I got a call today from a different guy who said I could rent it to a group corp people for more than what I paid for it. WOW this sounded to of course to be too good to be true.. Ya I could get $12,960 in RENT each year for the low cost of $1,595. Hard to refuse Huh?
I'll for sure call him Back!! NOT - LLoydaGot the same call/message twice from Rick Allan x256 and Reynold ? x310. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM! If they would like to rent or buy the time share property, THEY SHOULD BE THE ONE TO PAY THE OWNER AND NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. This kind of scam and greediness should go to hell and should not be tolerated.

- lolsdollhaus replies to bubbaI checked their stats. they have less than 10 hits a day and I'll bet that is their owners looking after solicitation calls. They wouldn't provide a satisfied customer list or any stats on number of units sold. I asked for this to be mailed to me or faxed. The guy hung up.

- sadI got a call from 1-800-672-7034 they offered to sell my timeshare at Smoky Mountain Resort at Severille, Tenn. for $85,000 to $90,000. All I had to do to lock in that price was send them $1199.,(right away). They had to have an answer within the hour. I checked out the web site they gave me and came across all of these notes(I'm so glad I did) When they called back I told them I couldn't do business with them and he asked why? I told him I checked the website and decided all of this sounded like a scam! He really got angry and said this was all a former employer trying to hurt their company. BEWARE!!!! WHAT SOUND TO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT USUALLY IS!!

- Very ThankfulI received a call from Jeanne from REM and she assured me she could rent my condo in Hawaii for $21,000 for 2 weeks. (That is more than I paid for the entire Timeshare). That sounded way too good to be true. She said that there were a number of large corporations wanting to rent timeshares in Hawaii and they rent them out as soon as they go on the market. Oh by the way they needed me to pay $1,495 as a down payment right now before they could list my timeshare. That is when I started to get suspicious. I checked the BBB (Better Business Bureau) website and found they have had over 54 complaints in the past 30 days alone and then I found this website. Jeanne is going to call me back tonight and thinks she is going to close the deal. She is in for a surprise.

- Very Thankful (Part II)I just got off the phone with Jeanne Somers. She indicated she has worked at REM for 8 years. Be advised the company has only been in existence for 7 years. There was an article in the Orlando Business Journal on Tuesday December 18, 2007 that reported REM was fined $100,000 by the Florida Attorney General for using misleading telemarketing pitches to obtain clients for its timeshare resale advertising business. I mentioned this article to Jeanne and she became very defensive and said that their company had been "raked over the coals" by a number of customers. She originally told me that was over five years ago, but I corrected her and told her the date that the article was run in the paper. I then mentioned the number of complaints on the BBB filed against their company. (124 in the past 36 months and 56 in the past 12 months). Again she became very angry and defensive. The conversation ended shortly thereafter.

- sami replies to Carey| 2 repliesI used them to rent out my weeks with starwood, I had no problem whatsoever. I listed 3 weeks for rent, the firts week rented about after 5 weeks after I listed then the other tow a few weeks later. So I made my money back and then some! The businesess that called me to rent, paid quickly and the entire transaction went easy! I think maybe some of these posts are from ex-employees or maybe people that are impatient

- VicResort Equity Marketing called me today. Don Hudson (1-800-672-7034 ext. 335) did not state his company name until I asked for it, then he said, "Equity Marketing." There is LOTS of info on the Internet about REM. I've only found 2 posts that were positive versus probably close to 100 very negative posts or articles saying this company is nothing but a big scam. Beware! If it sounds too good to be true, guess what... it probably is!

- Patsy replies to Tom in WisconsinReceived a call yesterday, $1900 to get things started, I told her send me the paperwork, she never asked to verify my address. Bottomline she could hook me up with businesses that want to buy timeshare/Condo and I could get $19,000 or more after I pay her Co.to do transaction. Too good ~ It's a scam! Time share dont worth that much!
- MikeI got a call today stating they wanted 985 dollar up front fee to use my timeshares in fl and that I could expect 2500-3000 check from corporations that use my shares. When asked about getting a contract up front they balked at the idea and said that they could not send me a contract til after I sent them the money. Going to my timeshare holder and asking them what they heard about this company. Number they called me from was 321-282-0600.

- John SmithRecieved a phone call from Mercedez Vidal same phone number. She said she would help us rent our time share. She wanted $800 up front. She kept calling saying that out credit card was bad. I even changed my credit card number too. She gives you a real website but it is not her company.
- MildredThy asked me if I wanted to sell our Timeshare. after giving foolishly information I went into the Internet and found all comments were of a scam. I am worried and do not know what to do.

- Niel in Chicago replies to Tom in WisconsinThanks to all, that has posted here. I find your info most useful.
I also own a timeshare and has received calls throughout the winter about people and what they can do. How much money I can make, selling the points for an up front fee. The up front fee varies from $ 6-1200 depending on the company. But in return I can make thousands of $$. Well I got one of them to send me a contract and there was nothing in it that obligated them to do anything. I did contact the BBB and they had numerous complaints. I also contacted our timeshare company (Wyndham). While they can't give advice, they did caution me about paying up front fees. So here is my take....
I will not send anyone anything, without a contract that clearly states the terms and commitments. I will check with the BBB and I will require references form other people that have done this. If they make it sound to good, it usually is. BE CAREFUL. - Latoya MartinI received a call from Resort Equity Marketing. I listened to their service options and i decided it might be something i wanted to do since i wasn't using the unit that much anymore. i talked it over with my husband and called them back and signed up with a nice rep who gave me all the info i needed. its been about 3 months and i got 2 offers. of course i went with the higher one and i made a little bit of money on the deal so i am pretty happy! THANKS RESORT EQUITY MARKETING!! YOU REALLY WORK!
