Called and left a message on my cell phone this # 1-800-684-4340 and left a Reference #0500

This is paypal credit, AKA Bill Me Later.  It's not a scam, it's bill collection for an unpaid debt with your paypal credit account.  I owed roughly $23 for an uber charge that didn't go through because my card on file had expired.  The charge they said I owed matched my online bill and bill from my email.  Not ever unknown number that calls you is a scam just because they don't leave a message.  This is legitimate.

I don't have a "bill me later" account. I believe it is a scam.

PHISHING SCAM: We happen to have PayPal. Did not call the number they provided, which is 800-684-4340 via voicemail, ref number 0600 so they say when you call.
I called PayPal regarding this phone number, they confirmed as of 7/18/2016 this is NOT a PayPal OR BillMe Later Phone number!!!!!
Do not give information out over the phone to this caller, this is a PHISHING scam.

DO NOT ANSWER... Just got a phone call from this number, it was a robot asking for me, stating that he was calling from "Bill me Later".
I contacted PayPal and told them about it, they said that the phone number is not one of theirs.

Well, I contacted PAYPAL on their Facebook page and they confirmed that the number belongs to them.  They also added: "For safety, you can always decline to give information when you are called directly, and instead call customer support to inquire about why you were contacted. It's always good to be cautious! Thank you for reaching out!"  I was getting these calls daily and never went as far as the birthdate request.  Contacting Paypal on Facebook (you can chat with them too) to make sure it wasn't a phishing scam.  Turns out one of my credit cards goes thru Paypal that was late.  If you don't believe me - just call the alternative number or contact Paypal on Facebook.

Received two calls from 800-684-4340 and listened to the robocall. Felt uneasy as it sounded phishy. Called PayPal customer service and communicated with a vary nice, kind woman at PayPal. Woman did not recognize the above mentioned number. She said, it sounds suspicious and glad I did not give any information out. I am behind on two payments and will get payed up. All because I work at Walmart as a cart pusher and was injured and lost time and pay;  A careless young woman backed into my back with her Ford Ranger pick-up truck while pushing carts in. She received a ticket! I have an attorney going after her car insurance company for it. Incidentally, I start a new job for the Salida, CO school dist working inside in maintenance January 11th 2017! Also PayPal did away with "Bill Me Later" and goes by "PayPal Credit".

I've received a call every single day for the past 2 weeks from the same number at the same time.  I finally called it back today.  After asking me several personal questions (DOB, Acct #). which I refused to give, I advised the caller to stop calling my number.  He said he couldn't do that.  I hung up and called Paypal.  They have no idea who belongs to the number but it is not paypal and my account was in good standing.  Just don't answer!

Pay Pal discontinued the "Bill Me Later" accounts last year. That helps to prove that this is a scam call. Ignore it and do not call it back.

They call several times a day. I eventually called an alternate number and they say my balance is the same as it was day one. They're parasites disguised as a company.

PayPal Credit

No message left. I do have a PayPal Credit Account, but it's paid off and has a 100% paid on time history. I called customer service and they said it sounds like a scam. Paypal usually calls and emails me when they are trying to get in touch and they also leave a case number. I wouldn't give out your info to this number.

Received a call but no voicemail.
