- Joy knoCollection agency, very rude. Threatens to take legal action.... Don't bother even calling back and wasting your time.
- KimFirst, the incoming call number is blocked, second it's illegal to threaten legal action. I will be calling a lawyer based on your harassment!!!
- Caller: Commetity bank

- sbCollections. States that I should have my lawyer contact them, or action would be taken that would directly affect me. Then the caller states that you have a limited time to call. Comes through as unknown. The call is intended to sound like a threat of legal action, but is carefully worded so that it is not actually a threat.

- RS| 1 replySame as others have posted, left a threatening message about calling them back or they'll 'take action' (Ooo I'm so scared!) Other sites say this is a phishing scam. Ignore these no-life bozos.
- Caller: Community Bank
- Call type: Debt collector
- RS replies to RSI forgot to mention - I have no debts and I've never done business with 'Community Bank'. This is a scam if ever there was one.
- jenny32| 1 replyI have been receiving phone calls from Commenity Bank for the last 4 months. This bank calls me 5-6 times a day & uses multiple phone numbers and never leaves messages. I have reported several of their numbers to the FDIC & the FDIC put me on the do not call list. It didn't stop them from calling me using other phone numbers. I received another call from a restricted number & they finally left me a voice message asking to speak to someone who I have never heard of. So I was polite enough to call them back & let them know I don't know the person they are asking for & asked them to remove my number from this persons account & they said they will remove my number. I have a list of all the numbers that they have called from & if they continue I just might sue them for harassment.

- ZippyI received 2 calls in the past week. They left messages. They ask for my ex-wife. We divorced 14 years ago. Very sketchy.

- Don| 2 repliesReceiving REPEATED CALLS, and although they're looking for someone named "Kelly" and we tell them there is no at our number named Kelly they just keep calling. The company is indeed Commetity bank, and we've asked them politely to remove our number from their list. Supposedly they will, but I have my doubts. FCC is next on my list regarding these folks!

- Aunt Deb| 2 repliesI received a threatening phone from this number, saying they were going to take action against Jennifer Unkart, and she should get an attorney immediately. I was give the ext.1227703 with the name of a "specialist". Told I better respond immediately and be prepared to have action taken. There is no one here by that name, nor do I know anyone with that name. I called at 11:00 p.m. thinking I would leave a voice mail, but got a live person, who immediately requested my social. I started to give it, duh, and then said I would not so she asked for my phone number that they had called. She was very nasty. I asked who she was and she said Community Bank. went on that Jennifer Unkart needed to act immediately. I told her that I was going to contact my attorney and Lifelock. She then said she would remove my number, but today I have gotten 2 calls with no one talking, but a clicking sound. I did not make note of that number but will next time. No one should ever ask for your social right out of the gate and they share third party info with me about a person I do not even know. I do not know if this is a scam to get a social security number or a really, inefficient, very rude collection agency. Hope we can track this down. I cannot find much about Community Bank eith. Any suggestions?

- K. Marie| 4 repliesThese people work with Victoria's Secret, The Limited, The Limited Too (children's clothes), Lane Bryant and various other clothing stores. They sent me a letter demanding that I pay them or they will "protect their assets and interest" by hiring the very respectable law firm of Weltman, Weinberg and Reis. They claim this law firm wins EVERY case. They have also called me telling me to "lawyer up" if they don't receive payment. The sad thing is I owe nothing. I paid off this account.

Please explain. The FDIC advised Comenity to stop calling you? That's the only sensible reading of your statement, given that the FDIC does not manage any opt-out list I've ever heard of, and it refers people to the registry managed by the FTC when discussing financial fraud callers. - Resident47 replies to qwertyI sense sarcasm in Madam's reference to WWR.
