I am not a debtor and pay my bills on time but have had numerous calls from this same number about a collection for various people with the last name of Smith.  I have told them repeatedly that no one other than myself and 2 others live at my address with my number.  Then I get asked:  "You're not related?"  or "Do you know anyone by that name?"  I am feeling harassed as a result and again have repeatedly told them to remove my number from their records as it is incorrect.  Some of these people have legitimate complaints...do not assume all of us are "debtors" or "irresponsible".  Not all supposed debt collection agencies are what they say they are.  Couple complaints are from people who owe nothing or pay on time which leads me to believe that Greenburg is a phony company or agency.

These guys are all scum. Remember you are not required by law to give any information whatsoever to this firm. You are not required under the law to provide them access to your company’s property, files or employee information unless you are a government and they are making a public records request. Again this firm can only Talk you out of your money they have no authority and absolutely no legal authority to Make you say or do anything. Now having said that they will lie, cheat intimidate, threaten & hire private investigators to hand deliver paperwork etc... It’s all [***] if you allow you’re self to be intimidated or scared into paying then you’re an idiot. I owe over 150,000 to Altec Capital and Greenburg Grant was retained to try and collect. They used lowlife tactics and tried to scare me into letting them come on our property and take our equipment. I told them that I am the manager and if they came to the property with the sheriff and the sheriff or any local law enforcement officer told me to allow them on the property then I would do so however if you come on my property without legal authority or notice I will shoot you down as a trespasser. Needless to say but I will never pay them a cent I will hopefully one day be able to approach Altec with an offer to settle for 10 cents on the dollar. If they refuse which they most likely will then they can get a judgment and try to collect. This is all a public record online thru the Hillsborough County Clerks Office, Circuit Civil Tampa Florida. Remember never pay collection agencies always go to the source not the people they hire to harass you. Try to resolve the debt if the people you owe refuse at least you tried to resolve the debt prior to having to file chap 11 or 7 which by the way ultimately leaves them with nothing so allot of them will negotiate.

If called in the future always inform them that you are recording the phone call and that if they wish to come on the property to take pictures and or see YOUR FILES they must have an officer of the law with and that officer has to tell you that you must allow access! Guess what it will never happen but the calls will continue.

George scum McKenzie called for over a year said all kinds of nasty things to my boss about me. Said we all would be arrested and had private detectives bring me paperwork that said I owed a debt! WOW pretty heavy stuff to do to the manager.

I’m still here and so is the equipment! George went on to easier meat! Is it YOU?

We got the same sort of call. We were able to contact GGR to find out which creditor it was, and contacted the creditor to verify they were using GGR to collect. They were, so we're paying the debt - which we were about to do anyway. We were behind, yes, due to decreased business during this recession, but were paying as best we could and almost caught up.

We'll be having a talk with said creditor about doing business with such heavy-handed folk. This is not a way to maintain a good business relationship.

I have had the unpleasant experience of dealing with this firm on more than one occassion. I have just read the laws and regulations for debt collectors in the State of Texas. I understand that this a business for them but I believe they should gain some strength in character for their business and professional relationships by following the law. In my opinion "breaking the law" is just that and not a respectable business practice. I also believe that debt collectors have no business getting involved in the collection of contractual construction funds when there are procedures required by the Texas Property Code unless they are able to perfect the claim within the guidelines and time constraints.

AFTER an agreement for payment was made a lawyer pretender named Paul Tabron wants to write emails using big words and phrases like he is a Mr. Business Executive.  He did call the bank I deal with and my banker did provide a copy of the voice mail.  This company clearly implies itself as a legal entity.  Tabron was informed of this and if he backpeddled any harder he would fall down.  He is in serious cover his ass mode.  Payments are done but complaint will be followed.  He should get a dictionary for the big words he tries to use.

I think it's hilarious that all of you dead beats who don't pay for the services that legitimate companies provide are acting like poor little victims.  Why don't you pay your damn bills instead of being part of the reason that America is falling so far down the economic abyss.  If you get a call from a collector, then you are the problem - ya sad excuses for business owners.

But it's not as funny as incompetent and dishonest "collectors" like you coming on 800 notes to SPEW! Better that you waste your time here than illegally harassing your victims on the phone though.

In the meantime, your victims and potential victims can come here to learn their rights, and to get a good laugh at you clowns!

Funny how anybody who disagrees with you is a "collector".  I am a business owner who has to HIRE these agencies to collect money from deadbeats like YOU (obviously you are or you wouldn't have felt the need to comment).  I am changing my direction on collecting bad debt from losers like you.  I'd like to hire goons to come and beat the crap out of you dishonest pieces of crap.  Maybe when you can't hide behind credit and collection laws designed to protect business destroyers like yourself you will start taking your responsibilities to pay what you owe more seriously.

    Bravo, And well said.
They saved my business from Tanking, I have been in business for 15 years.
And the way some of my clients turned there backs on what they legitimatly owed us, we would not have survived. So call them what you want but If it was not for them I would be closing down my doors. And keep in mind no one wants anyone making us do something, but when you are out taking advantage of a guy like me, that is used to signing conrtracts with a hand shake and a beer. You have to utilize there sevices,I myself have laid down long enough, and refuse to be walked over anymore. By the time I contact a collection agency, I have already worked with people been lied to, and even ignored. So at least there is someone there to help me out. Thanks GGR,

I am just amazed at how stupid you sound. I am assuming that you are of legal age and mininal intelligence. The mere fact that you yourself stated you owe someone 150,000.00 and dont plan on paying.. is utterly pathetic. Run your business honestly and pay your bills on time you want have to deal with debt collector in any form or fashion legitmate or phony. Greenburg, Grant and Richards is a legitmate company. FYI if your business is open to the public, they do have the right to come on the property, before giving advice do your research.

Your intelligence decease with ever posted message. Again you just admitted that you owe Altec Capital a 150,000.00. That is ground for them to take you to court. You are quick to point the finger at Greenburg, Grant and Richards, but you are the liar, cheat and conn. You are using the collection agency as a reason for not paying, because if you were a honest business man inspite of your complains with G,G & R you would pay Altec Capital direct, but that to much like right. So you need to stop your low life tactic against G,g & R and just pay your debts.

I would sugguest you try using a dictionary before posting messages again. Putting that aside the fact that you are unable to pay your creditors in a timely fashion is the rest that Mr. Tabron is so successful at his job. Obviously he did is job correctly, according to you, payments are being made toward the outstanding debt, and FYI I am not an attorny just someone tired of hearing people like yourself complain, because they dont know how to run their business. Pay you debts on time you want have to get a call from Mr Tabron or anyone else for that matter. Try that and see how that works out for you.

Hey, don't you collection agencies file BK when the going gets tuff?? Mann-Braken anyone? Wow, do they have to collect from themselves in these cases???

On Friday, Axiant, LLC (also known as MBSolutions, LLC) filed for chapter 11 protection in Delaware in order to conduct a competitive auction process to sell substantially all of its assets. To that end, Axiant has entered into a stalking horse term sheet with NCO Group, Inc. providing for a proposed sale price of between $7 and $10 million. The company also sought approval of a $210,000 break-up fee and $150,000 expense reimbursement payable to NCO Group in the event that it is not the winning bidder at auction.

Axiant's first day filings report that it is a "leading national provider of financial services, legal collections and recovery management solutions for banks, credit card issuers and investors in debt products." However, it appears that Axiant's business is down significantly from its 2008 peak, at which time it had over 1,000 employees and an infrastructure to support "35,000 lawsuits per month, 20,000 arbitration filings per month, and $55 million in collections per month." As of its Friday bankruptcy filing, Axiant's headcount has been reduced to approximately 50 employees.
