This company should be SHUT DOWN!! My husband is in our local police lockup for a BS charge and when he tried to call me, the Tip system states that it costs a minimum of $29.95 to open an account, then another  $4.95 to set up an account before the call will even be connected...Wtf, $34.90 and this only covers a 10 minute call, so it literally costs $3.49 a MINUTE!!  I called the police dept and thankfully a nice officer gave a couple messages back and forth for us but when someone has a loved one in jail, finances are already a mess between that person being unable to work, the time that the free person has to take off from work for court dates, visits and so on....not to mention the cost of taking care of someone whos incarcerated. This company is financially raping people who are already going through a financial and emotional crisis. I am aware that price gouging is illegal and that's exactly what TIP is doing as we have to use them if we want to talk to our loved one. I've already called the Attorney General here in CT, filed a complaint with the BBB(which TIP has an F rating with because of the hundreds of complaints of over billing,  double billing,  BS service fees Etc) and as soon as I moist this, I am going to look for other means of submitting as many complaints and bad reviews as possible on every site possible!! To the TIP people......suck it and I pray y'all have to suffer as we are.

This is a TOTAL SCAM, DO NOT send them a dime, Just block their number & do not worry over them again.

Received a call saying it was a collect call from the county jail, to accept the call press 1 (but no inmate name was given), instead I pressed 5 to "talk to an operator", that's when it wanted to throw me into a billing area, and of course it was automated as well.  No live person anywhere.  I knew it was a scam, but wanted to talk to someone to act like I was going to give them tons of money to use for calls.  Anyone who reads this....IT'S A SCAM to get your money!!!

i have a pre paid account with a different compay,,,this tip com[any is trying to collect money i do not owe them...i cannot reac a real person to talk to on this issue...i owe them nothing because i pre paid the calls thru the jail itself.

I put money on my account for my son to be able to call me on July 8th he has been out since July 9th I have $19 in there and I want the credit and nobody will answer the phone

They called from this number and many others saying that my sin number has been compromised.  I keep blocking them but they keep coming back with their british recorded lady voice!!!!

Called my US Government IPhone this morning before 6 AM.  I was asleep so I didn't get to it in time and it did not leave any message.  CallerID came up as "Unknown".

I got a call from 800-713-7031 stating that my friend is locked up ,everyone is saying it's a scam which is scary because her voice is in the voicemail and it states exactly were she was at, I just wanna know if this is actually real.

Scam most likely. they say so-and-so's in jail and they need money. That's how they get you

A family member called me from jail, this company sent a text to my phone & said I needed to create an account before accepting the call! They said I had to make a deposit & it will be refunded in 90 days after I close the account. They billed my card $29.99 & then another $19.99...when I went online it said 0 balance...I still was not able to accept a call after setting up the account & paying a deposit. Today my family member called & was on the phone for 24 SECONDS, after hanging up TIP-talkcollect.com said I have a balance of $0.95 that will be refunded in 90 days after closing the account. I was not able to get anyone on the phone so I emailed the company, 1st they said they don’t have phones in Erie County & then after emailing them again they said they do have phones at the Cheektowaga jail & they thought I was trying to get phones from the County Jail & this is after emailing them several times! This seems to be a scam! I am highly upset! They sent me a copy of their phone log & I pulled my phone log up online & it is totally a fraud! Another number they texted me & told me to call is 1-888-243-6920

my cousin called me when he was at our local jail , he got bailed out at 9:30. This service called my phone 3 more times, the third time, at 11:39 PM I answered, thinking something was wrong with my cousin he was back in, I had to pay 29.95 plus 19 dollar fee then after paying it said inmate will call back within 15 mins account set up....he was already released so they scammed me 50 bucks

Received a call from this number, thought it was a scam from the start. Received 2 more calls and my man's voice was on it. He left a message but I had an account balance of $0 and needed to pay $29.95 to access it. They said they charge an additional amount after a certain amount of minutes and that if I don't call to close the account, they will charge another $19. Listened to a 10 second message that told me nothing! He verified it was him but I had no idea where he was. He called back and I got another account balance of $0. I checked to see if he left another message. He did not. I immediately called and closed the account. What if the family member doesn't have $30 to spend? Shouldn't the phone call be free? Scam-ola!!!!!
