I found out that the company is using the public information from DMV and from the dealerships database.  Someone must have a insider pulling the data or buying the lists from them.
I'm forwarding to the Postal Inspector, Better Business Bureau, and FTC for it's an illegal operation that an orginal business - the one who I bought the service contract from said "those individuals are buying the lists from the DMV or Dealerships who sell" your information.
Take this up with your legistators and FTC as the callers ask for your name and if they mailer doesn't answer before you can request to drop your name from the list.

Got the post card from this "Vehicle Warranty Division" addressed to someone I've never heard of and I built my house so no one else has ever resided here.  One thing for sure - the warranty is long gone on my 88 vette.......

I work for a Nissan dealership and bought my wife a Murano about six months ago and have been getting these things ever since. Some of the letters she will call me at work thinking something is up with the car only to find out it is one of these scams. We have customers come in with the contracts they have purchased and the worst thing is seeing these people that have spent big money on ext warrantys only to find out they are no good. Always  purchase these through the dealer most of the time they are less expensive and you actually have coverage when you need it.

My precious wife actually followed up with these folks, and they convinced her she MUST have this warranty.  Once I realized she did a transaction with them, I called back, and demanded they cancel the contract.  The wacked out woman on the phone yelled at me, told me she wasn't my child, and hung up on me.  I called back, same thing happened (times ten).  "Customer Service" employee from the pit of HELL.  We ended up canceling BOTH credit cards they requested (how absurd), but not before these shady, thuggish, piece of crap, crooks charged my card for $195.  DO NOT mess with these losers.  They take advantage of good (and naive) people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I got the same obligatory "What's your name, make, model, yadda yadda" crud from them.  What's great is that this car is in my fathers name and I don't care what kind of phone you're on, a 22 year old never sounds like a 60 year old.  I'm just glad I got the mail today rather than him.

It's currently 1:05 and I have these goobers going to call me back around 5:00pm.  "Oh sir, I'm not sure if we can do that because we did just have to pull a few strings to have you receive this coverage as you're a couple hundred miles over it.  The system doesn't recognize that we've placed that on your file if we have to do a callback."

I can't wait for them to call me back.  I'll run them through the rigamarole and let them think I'm really concern.  Heck I might just talk with their "specialist supervisor."

By the way the guy gave me a name of Jacob Kimble.  Well Jakey-boy, prepare to get that nervous dry mouth call center dweebs get when you call them out on something.

same here....so how are they getting the information?...i assumed the dealer sold out the info, but the car brands are too diverse....mine was for my '07 scion....i hate these kind of advertisements

I received a card in the main and knew it had to be a scam because if it was legitimate, it would have come in an envelope from the dealer or car company.  I called anyhow just to see what they would ask.  They asked for the ID # on the card.  They had my name and address.  I asked what the recall was and she said she would get to that and proceeded to ask for the make, model and year of the car ... to which I responded "if it was a recall, she should have that information" to which she said okay and hung up.   The number to call on the card was 1-800-649-1997.  Don't waste your time unless you want to play their game and let them know you know they aren't what they claim to be.  I'm guessing I got the card because of the "do not call list"

I just received their card..........I am bored so I am calling tomorrow (and many days thereafter) and see how long I can keep them on the line thinking they have found a dummy!!!!!!!! This could be fun.....anybody want to do the same and tie up their lines for weeks????????

Sniff out a clue. The guy who is calling you using 1-800-649-2568 is spoofing you (intentionally giving your caller ID the wrong number - yes it can be done).

For those of you who don't know 1-800-649-2568 is 1-800-MIX-A-LOT as in Sir Mix-A-Lot as in Baby's Got Back.

Jacob Kimble is a reference to the numerous prank phone calls made using Arnold Schwarzenegger's voice from the movie 'Kindergarten Cop'.
