- ZiggyThese SCAMMERS called me saying they where a law firm. Left me a message with there toll free number 1-800-748-8163. I called the toll free number and this guy new my full name and the last 4 numbers of my SS number, that's scary. Told me I owe money from a car loan that I co signed for my deceased son. This auto loan is way past the 6 year statue of lomitations. It's been well over 10 years. I just told him to do what he ever he wants, and he hung up on me. After the 6 year statue of lomitations filing a lawsuit will be NULL AND VOID.

- Kat* replies to CJust FYI, emails are not a legal method of debt validation so you should NEVER sign such a document.
- ChrissiI have received the same voicemail. The original number they called from was 1-408-715-2495. I called it back and the person had no idea why someone would be calling me from that number. My voicemail was verbatim the same as everyone else. Steven McKinley with Jeff and Associates. First of all, who the hell actually would do any business with a company called Jeff and Associates? it could not be more of a scam.

- Jay C.I have gotten the same call 3 times this year: each time from a different area code 505, which is northern New Mexico. After the identical message everyone else has gotten, the call back number is a different 800. Yes, I Google the gfn and associates and saw it is an accounting firm in Michigan. Must be a scam. But where do these people get our names and phone numbers and social security numbers? Does the FTC ever look into this?

- TamiHave gotten a call from these people twice now from two different numbers telling me to call the 800 number back. Call them back and don't get anyone on the phone just a generic voicemail with no name, nothing, wanted me to leave a message.

- ChristiI received a call today from Stephen Mckinley stating they have several violations against my name and social. I've worked very hard for everything I have and own. It's so sad that there are so many people out there that just want to take what you have without the sweat you put into getting where you are at. These people are worst than GARBAGE.

- Maryann| 2 repliesI have received 2 calls from 408-715-2495, did not answer went to voice mail where a message was left saying the message was for Chris G****. Same Steven McKinley, same message as others of threatening to file a case need to call 800-748-8163, same fraudulent activity on SSN etc. In both cases I called the 800 number stating that there was no Chris G and they have a wrong number. 1st time they used called ID to "remove" number the person was rude and would not let me give a second number for them to remove. Today talked to a different rude person gave the other number which is supposedly now removed. We will see if the calls stop. Like others I think this is a scam and I have noted that on the 408 number and blocked the number.

- Hip1 replies to Maryann| 1 replyBest advice is don't answer. Block number. And forget it. I've been getting similar calls for about 10 years and ignored them all and nothing more happened. Don't let them know they've reached a live person or they will keep calling.
- BigA replies to Hip1
They will keep calling anyway since the phone is ringing and since eventually it will get to your voicemail/answering machine.Quote:Don't let them know they've reached a live person or they will keep calling. - RedHat Threat Huntress| 1 replyWe need to all come together and sue them! My email: techietypoole@gmail.com
They threatened to seize all my assets from all
accounts including my business accounts. Next they said there will be a court ordered judgement against me. Although I ask for identification and debt validity they always just push for payment they have zero interest in proving it’s a valid debt - they never provide a website or physical mailing address so I can try and track them down. On the fourth call I agreed to pay the obscene amount they were requesting. I said I don’t feel comfortable until THEY emailed me a letter stating they will settle this debt if I agree to pay 60%…. sure enough they took the bait emailed me but their email came from a generic Gmail account and the letter head was missing a physical address and account number of original creditor! But there was a phone number 800-748-8163 with a m business name of GFN FINANCIAL LLC - NEXT I performed a few more google searches and checked the Georgia Secretary of State Website - I found they share a toll free number with Lyrad Debt Solutions LLC operating out of Conyers, GA and a search of THAT address shows it’s a virtual mailbox!!! scam scam SCAM!!! next I will contact the attorney generals office and my local news channel.- Caller: GFN FINANCIAL LLC

Ah yes, the proverbial "class action lawsuit suit" that takes anywhere from 5 to 10 years to go through the court and where the lawyers get millions and the class gets pennies as opposed to you suing them yourself. Of course you need to be able to serve regardless of which way you go and if this is a virtual office then good luck. By the way I already had posted about Lyrad on the first page of this thread. I also have to wonder why you didn't state that you were going to report them to the CFPB which is a Federal Agency and even more resources?Quote:We need to all come together and sue them!
