Someone actually came to my house and left a note stuck in the door addressed to my husband to call Daryl Callovini at 800-755-5249 x3530.  Talk about harassment!  You're not even safe from these people minding your own business at home!

Yes, they called our next door neighbor as well. She said that we asking some personal questions, and then stated that they could not reach us. When I called abck I asked to speak to the mananger and I was told "NO".
Obviously this made me even more aggiatated. They told me that they could call your next door neighbor's and that I should check into the laws before I call up and threaten them. Threaten them I did not do. When I had asked why they did not call our house they told me that they did not have a conatct number. Funny thing huh, they can call a neaighbor that lives next door using a directory but they can't call the person theie look for. OUr number has not changed, I find this call very disrepectful to my neighbor and to myself. Rude. Does anyone know where I can find the rights of these so called credit people?

A woman called and asked for a family member of mine. Would not state what company she was associated with. She was extremely rude. I took a message and when I was done that is when I asked her what company she was affiliated with she claimed she would lose her job if she told me. That is ridiculous. You cant lose your job by stating what company your with. You can only lose your job by discussing the detailed reason for calling. That was just ridiculous. I called back to find out the company name and was unsuccessful. BUT, THEY KNEW WHO IT WAS CALLING BACK!!! MY NUMBER IS BLOCKED! How did they know? Well finally I googled the number they gave me and this is what I got. They are rude and need to obtain some customer service skills. With my family, they will never be able to speak to the person they need to by acting like that. I will change my number if I have to...But I shouldnt have to!

This for skyking,  you ought to b ashamed of yourself...when you wanted the motor home wich is a luxury not a necissity..the bank never changed words..they loaned you the money on your word it would be paid back. OBVIOUSLY your word is garbage...and then you expect the to take less then what you borrowed. But they would have been wrong if they denied your loan when you asked for it right. Thats pathetic!!!!!!!

all you have to do to stop the calls at work is tell them when they call you at work that it is your work number and you cannot receive calls at work. Record the date time & persons name who called.
If they call again they are violating the FDCPA.

Got a call from this number asking me to contact my neighbor and pass on information for her to contact CCB, but the caller would not disclose the reason for calling. This is valid since by law they cannot disclose that this is a collection call to a third party. But when I looked up the company online to find that they are a collection agency. I have been put in a very uncomfortable situation - I am new to the neighborhood and do not know this neighbor yet and am asked to contact her to pass on a call from a collection agency?  That is not acceptable.

When you send this letter to CCB it gets sent to the client. From what i understand, this could go straight to their legal department. We love form letters! Seriously, don't tell me you have never heard of this bill. You used the credit card/drove the car/used the phone, etc. If you truly don't believe you owe the amount then send in your supporting documentation. The burden of proof is on you to prove you don't owe. These companies don't single you out to make 'your' life miserable. Sometimes mistakes are made. But getting upset and demanding is not the way to resolve it. We don't buy debt, so we have to get the requested information from our clients. Give it a little time. The  client has to retrieve the information, send it to us and then we send it to you. Make sure we have your correct address. Saying you dispute because you can't pay is NOT a dispute. Its a reason why the bill is not being paid. A dispute is when you have discovered mistake and can prove it. Credit cards still get interest and late fees and over the limit fees when you close your account with a balance. Read the contract. I know, it sucks, but its a credit card, that's how they work. When you don't pay for 4 months, your min payment is no longer 25.00. Our clients hire us to do a job. Collect what is owed on your bill. We do so many settlements, maybe that approach is a better option.
We don't leave the name of the company when we leave a message to protect your privacy. Do you want anyone and everyone in your house to know you have a bill in collection? Our name kind of gives it away.
Our license number is found on the internet. The letter we send to you gives you the name of the original creditor and the amount of the debt. There. You don't need to send the letter now. We don't sue on most types of debt, but our clients might, so we wouldn't have a copy of a judgment to send you.  Oh and make sure it is within 30 days of our letter to you. After that, our clients don't have to honor the dispute. Most do anyway. We will send your letter to the client. But, then we won't be responsible for what happens.
Not all collectors at CCB are bad. You have to be polite too.

Your boss has a bill in collections that he is not even trying to pay. That's why we call. Its personal, not your business. Would you like us to disclose to your boss that you have a bill in collections and tell him all the details? Probably not. Not saying you do, but if you did. Ask your boss to call and leave a good phone number and time to reach him personally. We will remove his work number, if he asks. No you will not get any information if you call to ask about his personal financial business.

For all of you people crying about the phone calls. It is very simple PAY BACK THE MONEY YOU OWE!!
If you are having problems which a lot of people are it is simple talk to them do not keep hiding and dodging phone calls. If you talk with them explain your situation and go over your finances with them they maybe able to help you find a way of taking care of your debt. The key thing is take responsibility for your actions and do not get upset when you get the call talk to them.

I can tell you all right now that CCB is a third party collector if you do not know what that is Google it and read about third party Collectors. My son worked there and I can tell you that they follow the laws! If you are getting calls at work and your employer does not want you receiving calls it is very simple call the number back talk to the collector and tell them you are not allowed calls at work they WILL REMOVE THAT NUMBER. Until you inform them that you can not take calls at work they can legally call. Again it is simple take RESPONSIBILITY for you debt and your actions.

To all of you people out there READ the TERMS & CONDITIONS of any contract completely before you sign or activate a credit card THAT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY and if you do not read the terms and conditions guess what YOU are still RESPONSIBLE for it. Quit whining and crying about it step up take action and fix it. Guess what some times it is just as simple as calling and say how can I take care of it can we do payments, if you call in and act and talk like a NORMAL RESPONSIBLE person they will help you find a way to pay it. If you want to take care of it you will need to give them all the info they need to help you. They are trained to help you find ways of taking care of your debt.

And also before you go complaining about the calls go google FDCPA do some reading and get your fact straight before you run your mouth about something your truly know nothing about!

And finally PAY YOUR BILLS and DO NOT BORROW MONEY YOU CAN NO PAY BACK!!! and also
READ the TERMS & CONDITIONS BEFORE YOU SIGN A CONTRACT AND ACTIVATING A CARD IS THE SAME AS SIGNING THE CONTRACT!! Of course if you are smart and have half a brain and read the terms and conditions you would know that.

be an ADULT and ACT like an ADULT and take RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS!!!!!!

Its not MY debt.  I was getting calls for some deadbeat named Michael.  When he took out a car loan he lied, giving them my cell phone number insteaded of his own.  At one point they were calling me 6 times/day asking for him.

Did you call CCB or talk to them and explained you did not know the and ask them to remove your number? Everybody needs to keep in mind there are some deadbeats out there that do give false contact numbers because they have no intention of paying the debt from the start.

Also under the law the collector can call each contact number they have for the debtor more than once in a day until they actual talk to the person that owes the debt. Go read up on Third Party Collection and the FDCPA

Just remember the collectors are just doing their job and believe me they are not breaking the law they are following up with the information they where given. If it is a wrong number just tell them.

Also for the record they can not disclose to a third party the name of the company, the only people they are allowed to talk to about the debt is the person that owes the debt except in some states you can talk with the spouse and they are trained on those laws.

So if you do get a call from a collector and you are not the person they ask for it is simple just let them know. Also be a responsible person too don't lie and hide for the people that owe the money that is low and especailly when grown up adults have a small child answer the phone for them and make that child lie about the debtor not being there. That is just plain sad only a low life loser would do that and from what I hear that happens alot.

The caller didn't tell me the name of the company.  I got the name of the company here.  Thats how I found this site.

I let them hang up on my answering machine for 2 weeks, then changed the ring tone again and talked to them.  I told them "I know you are [bank].  Apparently Michael gave you my phone number instead of his then stopped making car payments.  You have to stop calling."  It worked.  The calls stopped for over a month.

I got 1 more phone call.  The voice sounded like Michael's best buddy.  I gave my standard answer "There's no one by that name at this number.  Goodbye." and hung up.  Never heard from them again.  I looked up the number on this site, it turns out the "buddy" was calling from a collection service.

So in the whole mess the only person who broke the law was Michael the Deadbeat.
