If you can't spell "Debt", you shouldn't be judging others responses or issues.

Maybe if you read the whole note and not just jumped to judgemental conclusions, you would have seen that Thomas did not receive a bill, just started getting calls about a bill for his nephews.  It's because of people like you who judge first without due diligence that cause issues.

YO YO YO Its the king here and I'm baaaaaaaa-aaaaaaaaaaack!  Dude, there must be like 40 some-odd Steve Thompsons in this world, all using my numbers!  Lol.  No idea who ST is, but heck, this same name gets asked for on two of my cell numbers?  Strange indeed.  Christ.

They have called my cell phone 24 times since March.  I have a dumb phone, no way to block them.  I went to their website and lodged a complaint.  Hope it works.

They have been calling and harassing my autistic 13-yo on the flip phone we got him for his birthday.  Legitimate my are.

They're harassing because there's some sort of answer. Ignore the calls completely to anger the callers. These morons have no regards for anything other than cheating, stealing, and harassing numbers with an answer.

Received a missed call at 11am - no message

Picked up the call around 3. They asked for someone named Eric and I told them wrong number.  He proceeds to say that the call was being recorded and monitored. "Okay.... but still the wrong number" and then hung up instead of apologize to me. Rude.

Ok I've been called by this number a lot in the last two weeks. So I called it back and a guy answered from diversified consultants and he gave me a name I couldn't understand and told me we don't make outgoing calls. What is this scam and why haven't they been caught yet it's so stupid

Been getting calls from these idiots for 2 years on my corporate cell phone provided by my company, looking for someone I have never heard of.  Told them numerous times that I am not this person, and please stop calling my work phone, yet, they are relentless.
Now, I just answer these numbers with "this call is being recorded for my safety and protection".  They hang up, and don't bother calling again for a few weeks.

They keep calling me. Spam number.

Get calls from DCI over the past several months at all hours of the day and evening.  I never answer, and they never leave a message.  I don't owe any collection agencies any money that I know of, so I am not answering the phone.  If they don't leave me a message, I am assuming it is a total fraud and they are scammers.  I am going to block them once and for all.

Caller id showed Diversified Con. It is nice of them to be truthful that the call is a "con", by using it in their name.
I am going to block this one.  We don't owe them any money and they did not leave a message.

seriously though, they have been calling but never leave a message, no call back number and the caller id number doesnot get answered by them. never heard of them before and dont owe them any money. gonna block them now that i see what they are about.

Blocking a debt collector provides you with 2 negative results.  First and foremost it does not protect or even start your path to asserting your rights, and also it gives them no incentive to stop calling which results is the second negative result in that it causes the DC to start calling from the multitude of other spoofed numbers it has at its disposal.

So, here is what you need to do and know and also where to report them.  Take the advice and get results, or ignore it and put up with the harassment.

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation, cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
