You have a great FDCPA and TCPA lawsuit in the making.  Big bucks in your pocket.  Contact a consumer lawyer and sue them.  Find one that does it on contingency and no money out of your pocket.  Plus they have to pay your attoney's fees as well.

Since they claim to do mostly commercial collections the FDCPA would not apply.  However if they are attempting to collect a personal debt or wrongly trying to collect from an individual for a commercial debt then it probably would apply.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Mr. Dan Banner attorney at law called and related that my business owes a client of his X-amount and would like to settle this before it escalates with additional fees, int, and court costs.  It is required in most states that a consumer or agent thereof; must first send a letter to the consumer advising of such debt and as the indebted person , or business be given 30 days to respond and, or request proof of debt, prior to taking any additional collection efforts, or legal action, including collection calls..-SCAM Posted by Dallas-Debt Collector

I work in IT and keep calling my direct line in reference to an alleged debt by my EMPLOYER. I've repeatedly told them to contact accounts payable and have given them the number. I guess they think that if they call enough, the IT guy is going to whip out his credit card and pay them. Sorry, that's not how that works. Oh, and I love how this company tries to come off as a law firm. Super pathetic and shady.

I really despise debt collectors. I've never had one actually call about a debt by ME. It's always about a friend, family member, or in this case my employer. I've even had one threaten to "involve me further if I didn't provide my mother's current address and phone number." Sorry, you're not getting it. If these people were any good at their jobs they wouldn't need to call people who are not involved with the debt.

Next time I get a call I'm going to do skip tracing of my own and call them back, on their home or cell phone, at night, on a weekend.

I think this is a scam. I received 2 calls on my personal cell phone this morning from 2 different phone numbers (both in my area code) leaving only a portion of the same message using a mechanical voice. All I get is  "...about this case, please call."  From reading the previous posts, I guess someone is trying to sue me for unpaid shipping bills. I use the US mail. I pay as I go. I don't work for any company that does a lot of shipping. I work in a church. We mail whatever we need to send out. Next time, instead of just hitting ignore, I'll let it ring and go to voicemail and see if I get the entire message.
