They've called my line twice this week. I phoned back and left a message that they have a wrong number. I was nice about it. I owe absolutely 0.00 to anyone. No reason for them to be calling me.

But I have advice for those who do owe money, and are getting harrassed. Do not engage them. Do not have conversation with them. And never...NEVER own up to having any debt they are trying to collect from you. They can not collect on a debt you don't acknowledge. And they have a time limit on which to collect. So 1. Don't engage. 2. Don't acknowledge. 3. Get their collectors registry number. They all have to be registered. If they don't give you the number, they are breaking the law. 4. Hang up.

And if you do have money trouble, I urge you to seek financial counselling to help sort it. As soon as you are in a debt counselling program, all calls and all attempts at collections MUST cease by law. And they will. Even those folks who criminally harass you.

One more thing...IF you do acknowledge the debt, be civil, (even if they're not). Tell them what you can and will pay, and stick to it. You can also negotiage down to .25 cents on the dollar, IF you have a lump sum to give them. Once they agree, GET IT IN WRITING or they will take your money, and years down the road, you will get another company calling for the remainder of the original debt.

Good luck. Life has speedbumps for everyone. Take yours in stride.

Your right they are a two bit collection agency -- by law they are to provide their collectors license # upon request with this information you can contact the BBB and report their harassing activities -- I know as I unfortunately wasted 10 years of my life working in this pathetic industry -- also you can request they contact you only in writing and cease any other form of communication --once you formally make this request they must stop calling you--if they do not they are risking their license as well as the agency itself being fined

I get calls from them too, they all have different numbers but Im sure they're from the same place. They can't leave a VM because I have the calls blocked. Gives more peace of mind. Bad things happen, people make mistakes. Its harder to deal with them while being threatened. I wish they would try to work with people instead of harassing them.

Whenever these kind of people call, I always Google the number and educate people about collections.  I live in Ontario so I will leave links that apply to Ontario.

After 2 years in Ontario, debts are stats barred which means creditors can only sue for the money up to 2 years after last activity.  Many creditors don't sue very often.  They like to keep debts "fresh" so they will ask debtors to pay 20 dollars.  The interest per month in many cases is more than 20 dollars.  Creditors want the debt "fresh"  If a debtor pays any money, that resets the clock.

Debts stay on credit for 6 years after last activity.  The two main credit reporting agencies in Ontario are Equifax and Transunion.

If some collection agency or bottom feeder approaches you to pay some 10 year old debt, tell them to get lost.  Just ignore them.

This number has called me everyday for the past 2 weeks. I answer and they just breath into the phone and hang up. This is the most stupid, immature act for any “company”.
