I got a call saying I won one of four prizes after entering a sweepstakes in a local mall.  Do you know anything about this?

I also got a phone call from them on August 19th. I did call the number the man gave me and once again they said I have won one of four prizes but I also won a trip to Florida in which I would have to attend a 90 minute seminar. I have heard about these types of things I told them I would call them back after I spoke to my husband. They told me I would have to go to Fredricksburg to collect the prize. I am very sceptical and dont know what I am going to do. If I do something about it I will post it. Please do the same if you contact them.

Same details...October 12th... I won one of four prizes but have to call that 800-797-3052 number M-F to verify a special code that she gave me.  The woman calling knew no details about the actual location of the drawing but had my address, household income, and age.

Has anyone actually collected on these prizes or have you heard about it being a scam?

Unidentified caller stated that we won 1 of 3 prizes at Panera Restaurant. We were given a PIN number and told to call 1-800-797-3052 to claim our prize. Prizes included $25,000 towards a car or the cash, a cruise or a hotel stay. This seems to be more of the same scam reported by others on this website. Our caller ID indicated "MKTNG MASTERS INC" with phone number 540-885-7590.

I received a call from a man with the last name Markquist.  The number he called from was 540-885-4792.  He said I had won 1 of 4 prizes.  The Grand Prize was 25,000 for a car or $20,000 cash, a 4 night Carribean vacation, $770 towards a adventure package, or a $400 AMEX gift card.  He said I had won from a form I had filled out at the Prime Outlets.  He gave me a claim number and told me to call 800-797-3052 to find out what my prize was.  I am glad I read this report first.

same details!!! I told them i would call them back to schedele a time. I reseached the number and found this site(thanks so much)so i called back and confronted thelady about this being a timeshare marketing trick. She gave me no answer and i asked where i put in for this prize ahe just said either a fair or carnevel or something of that nature she couldn't give me a straight answer and got very short with me and asking me for my "code" and she went on to say that i won but i just hung up. If i was that big of a winner i'm sure someone would know something and they wouldn't have me calling and driving all over the place to get it.

I got the same call.  I had to call the Awards Dept., and she said I won a trip to Orlando as well as 1 of 4 prizes. Is this a scam?

Not completely a scam, but you will only get $50 or a free year probably at Massanutten.  Search online for Wilderness Presidential Resorts, it is a timeshare campground that will make you take a tour and then badger you into trying to buy...Your odds of winning all those big prizes are like one in 200,000. They will want your driver's license and a credit card as well prior to the tour to see that you have some credit...If you want to suffer through the tour for the free membership for a year to the ski resort (massanutten) it might be worth while, but the might not offer that either.

They called me and asked if I filled out a form, told me to call this 1800 # and they said the same thing, that I won 1 out of 4 prizes and that I would have to travel like 2 hrs to get that prize and also a trip 2 Florida. I remember feeling out a form in papa johns but that will be the last time I do that. I called the 1800 # back 2 get directions to go but the phone rang for like 20 minutes and I knew right then that it had to be a scam! Im glad there is web sites like this!

A man called me and claimed that I won a prize and a trip to Florda. he told me to call 1-800-727-3052 and ask for Maria and she set up an appointment to go to fredricksberg to claim it. I read a complaint where someone actually went there and it was a scam. They tried to get him to buy something else and got irrate when he didnt want to buy. He received $50 and that check bounced. He did not received any of the prizes previously offered.

Yes this is a scam to get you to go listen to a timeshare sales pitch.  I think it is ridiculous this is the way they have to operate to sell their units!  Keep reading and save yourself the time you will be wasting.  I entered a drawing at the Mall and received a phone call that I had won and was guaranteed one of the following prizes:
    -  $25,000 towards a new car
    -  $20,000 Cash
    -  Cruise
    -  $500.00 Visa Gift Card
Congratulations the guy told me!  I asked him what's the catch?  There is no catch he said.  Really?  I don't have to buy anything or sign up for anything to claim my prize?  He said no just call our Rewards Center and they will let you know which prize you have won.  OK- Well I'm not really acting excited because I don't really believe I have won anything, although the thought of winning was nice so I'll play along.

I was given a "Rewards Code" and told to call 1-800-797-3052 the next morning between 9:00 am - 8:00 pm.  I was also told to ask for Maria.  So the next morning I called and asked for Maria, surprisingly I had gotten her on the first try (Wow my luck is certainly changing for the better).  She proceeds to tell me that not only have I won one of the four prizes but I have also won a One week vacation for 4 to Florida and a $50.00 gift card to use for gas!  All that was left to do is figure out a time for me to come to the Rewards Center @ Wilderness Presidential to claim my prize.  While at Wilderness Presidential they will match my Prize Code to see which one of the four fabulous prizes I have been so lucky to have won, while I get to go on a 90 minute tour of the place.  Realizing that this is what this person "Maria" does all day long - basically scamming people making them think they have won something while all along trying to trap them into some dreaded timeshare or as she called it "Recreational Tour" is very sad and must be a truly unfulfilling and unrewarding job to report to each and every day.  For those who work for the company who will most likely never read this Shame on you!  Go use the skills you have in another way.  There are enough scams out there today why contribute?  If someone wants to be part of a Timeshare or Recreational Resort they will call you because they really have an interest.  For those of you who also receive this call remember You don't get Something for Nothing!
