so i got the call from the 540 # and tomorrow when i call the 1800 # ill have to put all this new knowledge to the test, maybe i will get something for nothing... like a headach or and folder full of junk mail. eather way its going to be fun. lol

Got the same call tonight (12/16/09) from Carla Wilson in Staunton, Va. (At least, that's what the lady said)
Same four prizes: $25,000 toward a new car or $20,000 cash, etc.
She had my name, age, income, even correctly described the way I sign my name. Same name to call. Maria must get a lot of phone calls.
I did fill out a entry form at a sports show in Hampton, Va. on the date she claimed (11/29), but I believe it was supposed to be for Bass Pro Shop.
The killer on this one is that no number shows up on my caller ID; not even a "number unavailable". They have figured out how to beat the phone technology

Maria is a busy girl.  I recieved the same call today and to call Maria.  I have to go to a resort an hour away to claim a prize.  She told me to expect to be there for an hour or so.  A resort most likely means I have to hear a timeshare presentation.
I wish someone on here actually went so I can get some details.  
I too went to 2 auto shows.  One in DC and one in Richmond.

Same deal... "won" 1 of 4 prizes - call Maria @8007973052 to claim.  I called just for kicks and got "Maria" right away (she certainly didn't sound like a Maria) and was told I had to drive to Fredericksburg on M,Th,Fr to endure a 90min timeshare pitch for a campground there in return for my "prize" + a trip to Florida.  Yea... not going to happen.

Won't bother repeating everything that everybody else wrote.  Exact same info.  I won't be calling Maria when she's back at work tomorrow!

Received the call tonight at 6:45 - was given the exact same information as the other posts. I believe it was from a form I filled out in 2008 at the festival of trees in timonium md. Thought it was funny that soooo long ago and I was still eligible for a prize - so googled the 1800 number for Maria that I received and found this post. Need to find a way to block the 540 number because they always call and this time I answered it.

We got the same call. It's not a scam, but it is a timeshare sales pitch. If you're not interested in purchasing a timeshare, it's probably a waste of your time.

In this case, the "timeshare pitch" IS A SCAM ITSELF.

If you're interested in purchasing a timeshare, this is the WORST POSSIBLE way to do it, you will be robbed, either scammed completely or wind up paying waaaay to much for crap (which will become abundantly clear if you ever try to sell it).

No one who markets this way is the least bit honest. Posts like yours sound like those made by the scammers themselves.

The 540 number has called me six times over the last week, but left no message. When I returned the call, no one answered either nor was their an answering machine. Finally, I answered today and got the same message from the lady telling me to call maria with the code and everything that you have previously said. Thank you for giving me the heads up so I don't waste my time on this scam!

I received a call from a lady saying I had filled out a form at Boston's Gourmet Pizza and that I had won one of four prizes.  The first was a new $25000 truck or if I did not want the truck $20,000 in cash.  All I had to do was call 1-800-797-3052 and ask for Maria and give her my register number of 87Lucky.  I called the number twice and both times got put on hold for better than five minutes.  I then decided to Google the 1-800 number to see what was going on and saw how many others had received this same scam call.

I can't believe I received the same call today. Exact same words said as VA 12/2008. How are they possible selling anything if they are using the same script as 2 years ago?

I just received the same call as Cherie. They told me to call the 800-797-3052 number to collect my award. I'm glad I too read this report. Scammers, and I thought I won thousands of dollars. Oh well.

Well it's 2010 now, and they've been hard in training.  Almost got me yesterday, these people called telling me congratulations! You've been picked! Come pick up your loot! I recieved several phone calls from different people (all perpetrating as integral members of some elaborate award process) finally trying to nail me down to travel to outside Fredericksburg, VA my next day off. Bring the Wife! Bring the Kids! Hey, we got your gas money! Was too good to be true.  While explaining all the amazing things I -might- have won they slip in a bit about a 90 minute tour.  I asked a few questions about the prize details, admittedly seduced by the presentation momentarily.  Five minutes after the phone call the questioning began, and the research brought me here.

They just called. Told me to call 800-797-3052 and  ask for Cindy and give her my code. Hung up and just Googled the number and found this site. Thanks to all.

Just got the call and was told same thing I won one of 3 prizes. I just needed to call the 800# and ask for Cindy. I was ask to verify information I filled out when going into the drawing but that was over a year ago. I guess they sold my information to these people. Thanks to this sight I am not going to call--SCAM!!!!
