said it was wachovia bank collections dept. i don't even have an account with wachovia. called back they wanted me to give my  ssn over the phone. no way jose.

Got a recorded message on my answering machine from someone claiming to be from Wachovia and asked me to call them back at this number(800-829-2474). When you call, you get a recorded message asking for your SSN. Clearly a scam.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Wachovia and that I needed to call 1-800-879-2474.  They asked for my account number, which is unusual since Wachovia usually asks for your debit card number.  I looked on the Wachovia site and could not find the number anywhere.

They call me at least 5 times a day at work, and at least 5 times a day at my home number at night.  They need to stop.

Called asking for a contact name on a mortage. I asked if they were Wachovia & they said yes. I told them I had already gotten a call from them & they hung up. When I *69'd the call , I got this # & I called it & it answered Wachovia..... Hmmm...

i recieve calls from them so frequently, i let my daughter answer the phone and annoy them. lol it is definetly a scam

Please look up the Fair Credit Trade Laws on debt. It is illegal to continue to call at work once you tell them to stop. You can sue for $1000.00 each offense in Florida.

Message left on voice mail to call Wachovia.  Called and automated system asked for Account number or ssn #.   I called a local Wachovia and they said they never leave a message for anyone to call back to an automated system.  Don't give any information to anyone.  IF THEY DON'T HAVE THAT INFORMATION THEY DON'T NEED IT.

This number has been calling us for a few months now. We have caller ID so we never answered it because we didn't recognize the number.  They usually call us anywhere from 2 to 4 times a day, 1 to 2 minutes between each call.

So finally we decided to pick up the call today.  The girl claimed she was calling from Wachovia and asked for our address.  But before my mom gave any other info out I stopped her and told her to ask what the girl was calling about.  So when my mom asked, the girl snapped back and said, "I'm asking you a question, you can't ask me a question.  I need to finish my verification process."

My mom then proceeded to tell her she was not going to get any information out of us, but I'm sure we'll be receiving another call from them in the near future.

Phone rings about once an hour from this number - 1-800-829-2472 - and I don't know who it is.  I don't answer, but I have read about the scams.  I am on the national do not call directory, but it doesn't seem to do any good.  I don't even answer my phone anymore without looking at my caller ID.

Get calls from this number all day.  If I don't answer the first time they call, they immediately call back.  From some of the other reports I have read, this is a Wachovia number.  I answered once and they said my house payment was past due, was very ugly to my husband.  I called my personal banker at Wachovia and she said they were an outside collection agency and that I could ignore it, that according to my loan terms, I had 15 day grace period and I was only a few days after the due date and several days within the grace period and would not have a late charge.  Told me to ignore the call and was glad I reported their rudeness.

I got 11 calls from this number today. I average 6 to 8 calls everyday from this number. This is very annoying.

Called seven times in four days about a payment on an account when the bill was not even due.

After receiving several calls one after another I finally picked up and firmly asked to be taken off their list of people to call and that I did not want to receive calls from them. They insisted that there was not a list and that this call was a personal business call. I reiterated for the third time that I did not want to receive calls from them and was told (very rudely) that I would continue to receive calls. The caller then hung up.

These people call at least 4 times a day.  I decided to answer once and the woman argued and argued with me even though we have spoken with Wachovia and straightened things out.  She compared our situation to someone owing us money and wouldn't we expect to get paid.  There was no reasoning with this woman and all she could do was argue.  We are less than 30 days behind with Wachovia and when we speak with them we have not even been reported to a credit bureau because we pay every month.  These people are harrassing us horribly. Did anyone watch Dateline tonight?  These people are predatory creeps!

I get tons of calls from this number every day.  Went to take a 2 hour nap Sunday and when I got up, there were no less than TWELVE calls from this number, six sets of two calls just a minute or two apart.  Each set was 14 to (max) 36 minutes apart. No message is ever left.

This constitutes harassment!

Just called the number and it SAYS it is Wachovia, but it may be a spoof.

WOW! They have called me about 30 times in the last four days. I did finally picked up and told the woman, very firmly to stop harassing me. She started to YELL at me!!! She did not even let me talk. C'mon, scammers, at least train your scamming employees to at least act like they are professionals calling from a collection agency. Pathetic little people.

They call my number (which I just got 3 months ago) every day before 9am.  I have tried unsuccessfully, SO FAR, to get them to stop calling.  When they ask you for your SS#, I typed in 123456789 and actually got through to someone who said they will speak to a supervisor.  Yeah, right.  We're on the don't call list and I'm going to report them.
