Send them a certified letter telling them to cease and desist calling you.
They are legally obligated to stop the calls. If they keep calling you after you sent them the letter, write to the state's attorney consumer
protection division and include copy of your letter and copy of certified mail receipt. The state's attorney will then go after them.. Believe me, this worked in my case. I never heard from those guys again. In fact they wrote me a nice letter offering to settle with me for far less than they
originally demanded

If you tell them wrong number, and telling them the truth, they still don't stop.  Take it to court.  You would be suprised at how wrong you people are in some cases. Make me waste my time on a court date, that I will show up for to find you have the wrong person.  Please.

You are about to be a very busy whatchamacalledit, with all the hard working, honest people out there that have paid their debts on time and are now finding themselves out of work, trying to hang on to the bare nessecities in life, while you try to make them live in fear and forgo there house payment, electric bill, groceries. More Americans then ever will be in defalt of a lot of non-secure debts.  All you will be able to do is aggeravate them, making them want to die because there pride has been lost due to no fault of their on.  Their blood will be on your hands.  You may justify yourself now and sleep at night, but it will catch up to you.  I know you have a supervisor standing over you.  Why do you have to try and make justifications for what your job, unless you feel you have to convince yourself.  It's not working on anyone else in this forum.

I dealt with a collector once, who broke every law against debt collections, don't you think people want to pay their bills, most collectors, will NOT NEGOTIATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Debt collection. Yes I do owe and am behind due to non payment of child support plus being laid off and taking a lower paying job!  When that debt collector calls my first question is give it to me in writing with proof that you are allowed to collect that debt

I refuse to deal with ignorance and pre-recorded messages. I will honor my debt when I'm able to but feeding my child is way more important
