this dirtbag company calls my work phone and is more than rude. totally off the charts with their scumball tactics. I refuse to even answer the phone - I am letting it to voicemail so they WILL leave a message and all of these messages are invading my privacy rights - plus, the beauty of this is all of these calls will be turned over to the authorities! Keep calling [***]. Calls come from 800-842-1795.

This is an ongoing scam run by Nelson, Watson, & Associates, 80 Merrimack Street, Lower Level, Haverhill, MA 01830, either by the company itself or by rogue employees at the company. Their other numbers are 978-416-2100, 800-388-1190, and fax 978-469-9046. Their URI is http://www.nelsonwatson.com/. The scam is very similar to those email messages that you get, supposedly from a friend or relative, that says that they are trapped in a foreign city and need money. These scammers call random numbers (or just go down the list of numbers in an exchange; they have called both my numbers), and say that a family member has an emergency. Either way, know exactly who they are calling; my numbers have been listed in the public directories for more than nine years. I don't know how the rest of the scam works, since I recognized it as a scam from the beginning. When I ask what is the nature of the emergency, they hang up the phone. They also call and then have no one there when you answer, a violation of the 2-second rule. The callers are complete idiots and are barely capable of carrying on a conversation (and that's being generous). Since Nelson, Watson, & Associates is listed as a debt collector, I have listed this type of call in that category, but obviously this scam has nothing to do with collecting debts. (This can't be a real debt collector, since no one in their right mind would hire a "debt collector" who tries to collect from people who have no debts. Customers would expect the debt collector to go after the person who actually owes them money.) I have filed complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and with the DoNotCall list, and they are still calling. I'll be filing Investigation Requests with the state and local regulators as well. Note: The problem with sending "cease communication" letters is that as soon as one scammer stops, another will start. Some are very difficult to track down. There is apparently a nationwide network of scammers involved in this; they probably "go out of business" and change their names often. Plus you have to face the fact that you are dealing with idiots who do not have the benefit of a second-grade education. What I have found from my experience in law enforcement is that criminals turn to crime because they are too stupid to get regular jobs.

I get a call at least once a day from this phone nimber. If I don't answer they do not leave a message and if I do answer they hang up. I have tried to call the number 800 842-1795 and I get a recording saying I need to dial an area code first, so  I have tried that and get a recording that I need to dial a 1 first. So I don't think this is just a collection company. I don't know what it is but it is stupid for sure

guess I now have a reason to get rid of ATT landline.

After moving into this house and getting a phone number previously belonging to someone else, I have received numerous calls from this party, as well as several others. Since I know that I have no business with collection agencies, don't give a $^^#$ about telemarketers, or credit card or life insurance promotions;  I simly check caller ID before I answer, and only answer recognizable numbers. My answering machine was trashed and I don't return any calls. At night time, I turn the ringer off on the house phone and totally shut down the cell phone.

This number calls my office every day... two or three times a day. I either answer the phone and say nothing... or I just pick up the phone and slam it down again. I hope one day they will stop calling!  Let them keep paying to call here.. there wont get anywere.

Do you know about the FDCPA? You can search for it on google. It tells you what collectors can and can't do when they are trying to get money. They are not allowed to talk to anyone about the debt besdies you or your spouse. Collectors can't even call the police or file charges about it or even put it on your credit report.  If they even swear at you, they are breaking the FDCPA. Attorneys can help if they are bothering you about debt. Call 877-909-MARK for Mark Carey Law Office and they can do a free evaluation about it if you need. Keep good records - every time they call, write it down. Write down what they say or even better, record the collector.

    Fed UP!!
This collection agency usually calls my cell phone and comes up "unknown".  Today I purchased the blocking controls for my cell phone and they had to call me with an unblocked number.  That's how I finally found out who this was that was calling me.

They want a dead beat by the name of Scott Price.  Apparently he has given them MY cell number and they, along with others, have been driving me crazy since Nov of 2009.  If anyone knows Scott Price please email me!  :)  I have some words for him...

I went to the website of www.nelsonwatson.com and sent them an email stating my case and told them not to call me again as I was going to start prosecuting every agency that calls me.  I feel that 2 years is sufficient warning for them to remove me from their lists...

These vultures will continue to call. And if they get no satisfaction they will just bundle your "debt" with others and resell it to another collection vulture. The caring caller actually gets a nice commission for any money he collects, which is the driving force behind the harrassement. The calls never stop. Some one in the this feedback posted a letter form to send them. Try that....
