Call from this company called Card Services. Guy said his name was Michael Andross. Talked to me about lowering rates wanted credit card numbers and info. I wouldn't give info, said I would talk to my partner and we would call back. Googled number later and found this scam was active. Please report as scammer and put on list. Caller ID was different than number caller told me it was.

I called my card services number on the back of my card (Orchard Bank, Visa) and had a specific question to ask them about travel insurance. I reached India. They told me I had to call 1-800-847-2911. I called and the guy asked for my card number and first and last name and how to spell it. I stopped in the middle and asked why he didn't have my information on the screen. I immediately called my visa card back from the number on the webiste that I use all the time and requested that they cancel my card and send a new one. What I don't understand is.. if I really DID call my card's customer service number, why did they tell me to call this fraud phone number?? hmmm. Hope it all turns out okay.

Raul called from 800-247-2911 ex 231 and was very slick and very persistant at trying to get my credit card number to lower my interest rate to 6.9%.  The caller had a foreign accent and I affected a foreign accent and engaged him to see how far he would go.  I don't know if these people fool anyone.  They must or they would not continue to waste their time.  I had a lot of time available the day he called and just wanted to see how much time he would waste trying to get my number.  The answer is a lot of time.

I got a call this morning that began with a prerecorded solicitation to lower the interest rate on my cards.  I was suspicious so I went ahead to see if I could get information to report a scam.  The representative said she was from Visa and Mastercard Services and that I could lower the interest rate on the cards connected with Chase, Bank of America, Citibank, and Capital One because I had been very faithful with payments in the last six months. Her accent was very thick and it was hard to understand her. I said I would only verify information that she had, I would not give any information over the phone.  So I used a closed account #  to see how far this would go.  She gave me the name: Lamita Raul, ID#22 at the phone # 1-800-847-2911 Extension 233.  She then asked for an active card with an expiration date.  I asked repeatedly why that was necessary and she kept repeating her same scripted sentence!  I then said I was absolutely not interested, that I was not giving any information on active cards out over the phone and hung up. In the next 5 minutes, I got three phone calls (which I did not answer) from this number 850-387-0474 in Panama City, FL.  I also got a voice mail message left by Lamita Raul saying that I would have to call back and finish the process or my interest rate would go above 9%.  I called Chase Bank to ask  about this and the representative said that no legitimate bank would solicit a customer's desire to lower an interest rate.  (Of course not!  Who wouldn't solicit for a lower interest rate if they thought they could get one just by asking!) The bank would make contact only to inform a customer of an interest rate change.

my husband is a dead man

My husband just called me at work and his explanation of his phone call is identical to all of the previous comments.  He verified credit card information from two credit cards along with expiration dates and our last four digits of  our SS#'s.  He told the woman to call back because he needed to get more information from me at work.  Red flags went up all over the place when he explained the call to me.  I told him not to give her any more information when she called back.  He asked her to call me at work because I was skeptical.  Guess what??? I never got a call.  He asked if she could call back after 5:00 when I got home.  She said she only worked until 5:00.  Isn't there a time difference in India???  She wanted to get him to make this decision right then and there.  I called both credit card companies and told them what happened.  They suggested I report the cards as lost/stolen and change the numbers.  My husband is a dead man when I get home tonite!!!

I just received a call from 1-800-847-2911. The story is the same as all the other posts here, promise to lower interest rates on credit cards. When I asked the caller for the name of the company, she said, Debt Solutions. I asked for a phone number, in case we got disconnected, that is how I got the, 1-800-847-2911 number.
Judging from the dates of other posts on this site, it looks like filling a complaint with the FCC really does a lot of good. Look at the date complaints first started until now. Why can't the FCC do something? Just another do nothing federal agency, I guess. Your tax dollars at work.

I answered and got a recording, hit 0 for a live person.  She said something about me needing help with a credit card, and that she assumes that's the reason I called  (yes, she said I called)....  I yelled "you are so wrong, I am on the no call list and if these calls continue I will see you in court".
I'm keeping a record beginning with this call.

    DON'T Fall for this SCAM!!!!!!!!!
I got a call from  caller ID VISA.  Then spoke with KAREN from Visa Credit Card Services to lower my Visa interest rates.  When I asked; they said they were connected to the banks and just needed to verify some info.  DUMMY me; because I know better...but I was distracted and began giving out some (but not all) of the information before I was able to decide this was way too suspicious that they did not already have this information on hand.  I hung up and called my bank and within seconds they verified this is a SCAM.  We cancelled my credit cards and MY bank assured me that they could not proceed with any false charges or use the limited data to try to acquire any additional credit as an attempt to steal my identity.  MY bank also re-assured me that IF any false charges were to come through; I would NOT be held responsible.  As I was on the phone with my bank, I got 4 return calls( 3 were from 407 area codes and the last from a Private number).  When I called the original number back; they told me the Scammers have tapped into their toll free number and created this rather convincing scam.  THEY are taking legal action and proceeding with shutting this SCAM down.

I got a call that said they were from my credit card and that there was nothing wrong with my account but that if I wanted to lower my interest rate to press 9. Caller ID said 1-765-000-2283, when I called this number it said I hadn't completed the number.  A guy gave me the 1-800-847-2911 number and said he was from a company called Account Services Financial and his ID # was 003801A.  He asked for the last four digits of my social security, which I gave him and then asked for my account number.  I said I wasn't comfortable giving out that kind of information and he said, "are you aware of the 'such and such'  act that congress passed?  It states that you are not liable for charges incurred that you didn't initiate"  or something like that.  I said I was not aware of it, but that I still didn't want to give out that information.  He said he was not from my bank but that he would 'verify' that my account was in good standing.  It sounded very fishy, I hope this helps others who receive similar calls.

    Almost fell for it!
I consider myself pretty savvy, but nearly got caught in this scam. Call was "wireless" call from 813-355-7202. Message said press "9" if I was interested in lowering interest on credit cards. A woman answered claiming she was Card Services who handle all Visa, MasterCard etc. She asked if I had received a letter within last couple of months. Said it looked like "junk" mail, so I likely tossed it. Right? Then she asked if I wanted to consolidate all my debt and lower my interest. I told her I only had one card. She then asked if I had store cards, or other credit cards. I told her yes, but I don't use them. She then asked for my major credit card expiration date. Thought this was weird, but I gave her that info. She then asked if I had more than $3000 balance. I said yes. She asked how much and I told her the amount. She asked who the bank issuer was. I told her. Now I was really starting to get leery. Next she explained that she needed the credit card number so that she could access my file and get the bank on the line to confirm that the interest would be lowered provide me with a confirmation number. I told her I would not give her my card number. She pressed me saying the offer expired today. I said I wanted to call back to verify, as I could not be certain she was who she was claiming to be. She gave me this number 800-847-2911 and some song and dance about being a card holder too and she understood. She also told me "You have heard about the new consumer credit card protection right? That if a transaction doesn't have your signature on it, you are not liable for the purchase." That really didn't sound right, as I purchase things on the internet and don't sign for them...but presume I am liable...now the alarm bells are going off so I asked her if I could put her on hold, which I did while I did a web search. Bingo! Scam! I got her back on the line and told her I would not give her any more information, that I had determined the call was a scam and she hung up! I immediately called my card holder and put an alert on the card, even though I hadn't given out the number. I figured that since she had my name, bank and expiration, she might be able to get the rest of the info. I also registered a complaint on both numbers with the FTC.
Here's a tip...whenever these people call, answer but immediately hit  20+ times on the pound (#). Don't know if this is fact, but I understand it kicks your number out of their autodial system. Also like the suggestion by the caller above to give them the FBI phone number. Might also consider having our states AG number handy.

Over the past three weeks I had at least eight calls from this outfit who claim that they are answering my inquiry about making money from home. The last one said she was calling for "Economic Freedom" in Arizona. Every time I asked them to remove my name from their list but to no avail. I am in the eighties and have never inquired about any income opportunity.   A nuisance, but I am tired of this.

    800.847.3911  VISA

These ppl called me this evening ( automated call)
Telling me that they can lower my interest rate on my Visa to 6.9%,
to push a certain # if I wanted to talk to a rep. & another # if I wanted off of their calling list. I chose that 1. Then I was p-ed off that they called me as I am on the DNC list so I called the number right back. I kept pushing 0 to get a person and finally did. I told them that I did not have a regular Visa only a debit card and wanted off of their calling list. The lady informed me in broken English that the number that called me was not the one I had called back even though it was the EXACT #. she tried to tell me their # was hijacked and they had someone looking into it. What a crock!!! Beware!!!!

I am so dang tired of the calls I am getting!!
