- concerned AmericanDon't tell them jack. Instead, have fun and screw with them. They will hang up.

- JPI received a phone call from them. They sent me a text to prove I'm the correct person they are calling. The text stated it was T-Mobile. (same number as other correspondence with them) But the phone hung up. I looked it up, contacted T-Mobile. It's a SCAM. They even called me back to which I did not answer because I was on the phone with T-Mobile.
- JuliDidn't answer because I didn't recognize the number but I tried to call it back and it states TMobile information line. I've had Sprint for years and have not looked into switching at all-- clearly a scam.
- Salt Water replies to Gregg in DallasGot the same call, a middle-eastern man saying he was from T-Moble and would give me $20 credit, hard to hear, bad connection. He wouldn't stop talking, finally said, I'm at work and can't talk, plus I don't have T-Mobile, he hung up.
- Nancy TJust got a call from this number. They said they were from T Mobile and wanted to do a customer service survey. I asked him to confirm that I was a T Mobile customer (I'm not), got hung up on. Obviously a scam.
- AnonThis is a phishing scam. A spanish-speaking representative told me she'd give me a 30% discount for being a T-mobile customer for over a year, and I just needed to answer some questions to verify my number. It was fishy since there usually isn't that much background noise. I googled the number and saw it was a T-mobile number... which confused me. She then asked me for my zip code (which they never ask) and to give her the "code" I got in a text. I did. I then rushed to change my password just in case, and realized that those are the security questions for a password reset. I beat her to it, changed my password back to my old one, and hung up. When I asked her why she was asking for my password as a rep, she said it wasn't a password but a code I had to give to a rep in my nearest store. These people are good, and it's terrifying that you can't even trust official phone numbers nowadays.
- Caller: Fake T-Mobile
- DanGot the same call, Indian guy. Saying would give me $20 on credit for Tmobile. Asked a few questions (billing zip code),and then I got a Txt msg from Tmobile a Temp. password. The message also says "never disclose your temporary password. So I just told the guy I wont read it to him and I dont need his money. He then hung up on me. Please be-careful!
- BelI received a call from 1800-866-2453 this afternoon on 2-4-2014. The Indian guy on the line said he was from T-mobile and asked me if I wanted to participate in a short survey and that I would get $50 credit to my account if I did it. He asked me a few questions like "Are you the primary account holder?" "How likely are you to recommend T-Mobile to others?" and "How good is your call quality?" and a few other questions. I answered them and then he asked what my zip code was. I told him and then he said to check my text message and read to him the 6 digit code (which is actually a password). The guy was really pushy and wanted to get the temporary password from me but I didn't give it to him. The text message reads: "For your security, never share your password. T-mobile will never contact you to ask for your password. Your My.T-mobile.com temporary password is XXXXXX." When I read the text message I hung up. He then called me right back but I didn't answer. I was able to used the password in the text message to reset my password and get into my T-mobile account again. I then called T-mobile's General Customer Care at 611 to report the scam. The guy was very helpful and reported the situation.

- ChrisSame here. Got a call from this number and Claimed that was from AT&T. The Indian guy asked me exactly same questions that you guys got. I gave him my zip code but hesitated to disclosure my last 4 digits of SSN. He asked me twice and I firmly told him NO. Then he hang up. I need to report it to AT&T too. Hopefully, this issue can get enough attention, eventually someone can stop this scam!

- anonymous| 1 replyI got a call from this number on my T-mobile phone saying it was a customer satisfaction survey from T-mobile, offering me a $20 credit on my phone bill if I completed the survery. I should have known better, T-mobile in the past always texts me surveys. After going through a few questions he asked for my billing zip code and last four digits of my social. When I refused to give up that info he told me that was the ONLY way to verify my identity which didn't make sense especially since he called me. He said something about texting and reading back to him a security text but I got off the phone quickly as I was getting a very bad feeling about his pressuring me to give up my personal info. Sure enough I got an account password reset code from T-mobile almost immediately, which I then used to reset my password. I called T-mobile and they confirmed that it was NOT T-Mobile who had called.
- Caller: claim to be T-mobile but are not! SCAM!

- RickA woman called me talking Spanish. She said to be from TMobil, that they were going to give me a discount in my bill. She asked me the last 3 digits of my zipcode. Then I received a text msg seemed from TMobil, it said that I'd been assigned a temporary password.I told her I'd calle her back, and she hanged up
- RichGot a call from a lady with a really thick Indian (?) accent. I didn't question it because companies often outsource support to such countries and it wouldn't be the first time I could barely understand the person on the phone.
She said I would get a $20 credit if I answered the survey. Luckily I looked up the number as I answered the phone and saw that this was a scam.
I received a text containing a temporary password, and she wanted me to read this code back to her. If I hadn't been paying attention, I might have, although the body of the text didn't seem like it was for a promotion.
Basically all she did was input my phone number into the "forgot password" form on the T-Mobile site and try to trick me into telling her my password so she (or whoever) could log in with it. She even tried calling back after I hung up.- Call type: Prank
- TalainaGot a missed call from this number. With all the scams going on right now, I always Google an unknown number to see who called just in case it's important. Thanks for the info everyone! BTW, anyone who has T-Mobile should know that T-Mobile only does surveys through free text messages not by calling you. And the surveys are just one line questions with a response of numeric grading like 1 through 5....
- Tigger.OG33Scam! Scam! Scam!... 'posing' as TMObile (or AT&T in the past, or both)... Please read carefully: Do not give any information to these number. Just hang-up and block the number in whatever way you can as soon as possible.
So, "Whomever" is reading this, please block that number (1-800-866-2453) right now, even if you can not block this number because it is a '1-1800' you can still set your phone to always send it to voicemail.
Best of luck to all of you! ;) - JohnVThank goodness for 800notes. This number called my cell phone this morning, and I didn't answer. Glad I didn't!

not sure how this person did it but it's actually a valid t-mobile contact number as shown on their website:

just be careful not to give out any personal info on any received phone calls.- Call type: Prank
- SoniaThis is a scam. I checked with T-Mobile & they confirmed it's not anyone representing their company & is in fact a scam to get your personal information.

- Anon| 4 repliesNormally smart about this stuff, but I almost got sucker by this one. Just like all of the previous posters, I got a call from somebody with a thick accent wanting me to answer a survey and they'll give me a $20 credit on the account. The asked the usual questions: how do I like the service, what's the best part of being a T-Mobile customer, etc. They also asked to confirm the last 4 of my social and Birthday. That should have tipped me off right there, but since I get that whenever I call T-Mobile customer service, I didn't think too much. Then, they said they were going to "confirm my account" and I should get a text with a password reset for my T-Mobile site. Sure enough, I tried to log on with it and I couldn't get on. Luckily, I was able to reset it again before any information has changed. T-Mobile confirmed that there is no such survey/promotion going on.
If this happens to you, make sure you can get into your My.T-Mobile.Com account. If not, change the password NOW. Second, get T-Mobile to a verbal password on your account whenever you call their 1-800 number. Third, if you're a member of Lifelock, give them a call too and let them know what's going on.- Call type: Survey
- Roger replies to Anon| 3 repliesI got the call 10 min ago and fell for it. I tried to login to my account after and the password did not work so I reset it very quickly.
I really hope they will not access other information. I still can't believe I fell for it. - Roger replies to Roger| 2 repliesI was lucky to change my password quick enough and they were not able to do anything. T-Mobile told me that they usually access the SIM card info and download it to their own phones to make long distance calls.
My online account was locked by the T-Mobile fraud department as they found something was suspicious.
p.s. You can change the last 4 digit social to be anything other than social and it is safer this way. Just in case.
