- ChristineI keep receiving calls from this number 1-800-866-9436.
- Call type: Debt collector
- SGot a call from them and went to voicemail. Message was computerized but in a bad accent and broken up so badly, I couldn't make the whole thing out. Not sure what they wanted but know I don't have any debt in collections per recent credit report.

- SamI received a call today from the 800 number. It was a voice message to call back. If this is about a traffic ticket, I am blind and haven't driven a car in over ten years! I won't be calling back!

- AnonymBill Collectors, ESPECIALLY SLEAZY ONES are using a newer variation of harassment!
What they do is call your number, but when they call it is always for someone else, as in they ask for some else.
They do this in order to get you to respond. THEY KNOW THAT YO ARE LIKELY TO TRY TO RECTIFY THEIR MISTAKE, BY YOUR GIVING THEM THE CORRECT INFO OF YOUR REAL NAME!!!
I have a general SCUM SETTING in my phonebooks and filters, anytime I find them out, I add the scum to the list and I never see any calls from them nor do I have any messages from them wasting my time and temper.
In my case it is something over 10 years old, and several of these things keep harassing me via mail and phone calls, so my SCUM blocking list is getting to be pretty large.
Sadly, my phone company ceased providing the availability of out-right blocking, so I have to use my group function which allows me to set the call usage functions on callers... some phone companies might not have this either.
They then try to slime their way into your bank account by what-so-ever means possible.
They will TRY to get you to ACKNOWLEDGE that a debt still exists and in some jurisdictions if you do ACKNOWLEDGE that a debt then they scum really start turning the screws.
These people go after OLD debts that have been cleared from the books... like 10 to 30 years old, especially debts a government body decides you owe.
To call these people scum is to give real scum a bad name, in fact they would have to make several evolutionary leaps just to be able to be able to see scum in the distance on the evolutionary ladder.
NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER -
NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER PROVIDE YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER INFO TO ANYONE OVER THE PHONE!!!
NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER ACKNOWLEDGE ANY OLDER DEBT OVER THE PHONE!!!- Caller: Municipal Services Bureau - SCUM

- mnmI received a call from 800-866-9436 at 4:39 PM Central time. Some message saying they are a Municipal Services Bureau (MSB) and if this is not so&so to hang up, if it is to press some number. After doing research it sounds like a bogus number to scam people. If if is for speeding/parking tickets etc that would not apply as I have never had either. So don't answer and don't call them back! I will be reporting them to the National Do Not Call Registry to see if that helps at all.

- annoyed alreadyI've only recieved 3 calls so far. It's a recording saying this call is for "they do say my name". Please call 8008669436 between the hours of ... whatever. I wouldn't return a call like that period. They don't say what the call is for! So after 3 times I'm getting a bit annoyed so this time I searched the internet and see all your posts. I also don't owe any debt. I can't imagine what this could be about so I'm just going to block/reject on my phone.

- Lyera| 1 replyFor those who have no obligations but may have been misreported in error as having an obligation that doesn't exist: MSB (municipal services bureau or www.muniserv.com/) is a debt collector for various city agencies and services. They make calls and send out letters informing individuals that there is an obligation. They have a dark phone message that says by contacting them you admit to debt. They can't prevent you from contacting them to get the appropriate information for who is misreporting an obligation (it would be interesting to see in a court of law though!). The representative will tell you that the conversation is being recorded. Make sure you also are recording the conversation and let them know that you are. They will go through identifying information about you. Interrupt them and ask them "What is the account name and reference number of this debt associated with my name?" They have to tell you. Once you have that information, tell MSB, "I have no outstanding obligations with this organization. It is in error." The representative might then come back and threaten you with reporting it to the credit bureaus. You will then say, "This account has been reported in error. If you do report it to the credit bureaus, I will sue MSB for reckless disregard of the facts." They will then give you until the end of that billing cycle to sort it out. That should be plenty of time to contact the organization that misreported it and to have them call it back from MSB. Ask them to send you a letter that it was solved and called back from MSB. Unfortunately, the infrastructure for correcting misreporting is not nearly as lean as the infrastructure for posting payments, so stay on top of it. Annoy others, as appropriate.

- patOn my phone I put the number under "Zcollectors" since the Z will put it at the bottom of my phone book and I never see it unless they call then the Z tells me not to answer. I do this with people too.
I get these calls all the time, usually for small amounts in regards to services I actually used, but when I call the original company that the bill collectors claim to have gotten the debt from, they have no indication of me owing or being turned over to collections. My guess is they have a membership with one of those cheap public record websites and they pick people out and find out as much as they can and use it to corner you until you get fed up enough to pay them off just to get them off your back.- Caller: no name
- Friedrick SmithI see I'm not the only credit responsible consumer getting pestered by daily calls from this company.
The source calling me will leave a message after the tone with a cockney dialect asking for a person bearing my last name, but following it up with an incorrect first name.
The point is, this has NOTHING whatever to do with debt collecting -- it's DELIBERATE HARRASSMENT OF LAND LINE PHONE USERS. It can't be anything else when it's more than obvious the creeps behind these automated calls know they're operating on unconfirmed information, and yet continue to place them.
Keep in mind that the source has to be PAYING for these calls, and that's how you can be sure that the phone company is directly involved (if not the actual perpetrator). All I can suggest is that you allow your answering machine to intercept ALL calls before you pick up the receiver. That's what I do.- Caller: Won't ID itself.

- kevini've received a voicemail from this number twice in the past month. It's the same English accented dude that reads part of the name of my company (an S Corp).
This tells me that they likely got my information from an list.

- JamesGot a call from "Municipal Services Bureau" saying that I had a delinquent payment standing. I called back to inquire and was told that they had been hired by CPS energy over a "delinquent payment" for an address I lived at 6 months prior. I called CPS energy and they verified that there had been some issue with the check I had sent in- that because my account with CPS was closed it couldn't be processed or something. I asked why they (CPS) didn't attempt to contact me and the woman just said "sorry, sometimes things just get overlooked." CPS verified that this agency had been hired by them and that I would have to pay through them.

- saroli013Started receiving calls this week on average 2-3 times a day and yes they call in the morning and after work hours. Each time is a recorded message with a different name and tells you to call to remove this number if you are not the person they are looking for. I have ignored them so far and not called them back. I do have camera ticket from a few years ago that was never paid but they should be able to find me and send something in the mail if legit company was calling.
- Caller: Municipal Services Bureau
- violatedDocument if they call the first time, then request they remove your number. if they call again document it and find an attorney that sues these jerks. There are several that advertise here on line and they will and can sue them if they call even once after you request your number removed. They are a collection agency that collects already forgiven and written off debts and pockets the money. Crooks!!! Don't pay them a dime even if you owe it, it will not go to who you owe...
