- Beautiful replies to Mom in D'Town...They are very rude and don’t want to explain who they’re correctly. Once I asked why they’re calling she said she can’t proceed until I verify it’s me. I kept asking who they’re, she then said she’ll hung up and proceed to the next person. I told her okay then she hanged up. Very ugly and annoying.
- BeautifulThey are very rude when you try to ask questions about who they’re. I asked why they called me and they said I have to verify that it was me. I insisted to get to know who they were and why they called me but hanged up on me. There’s a lady who’s very rude after she calls you.

- RedThey called me and I didn't answer. They didn't leave a message. I called it back and a man answered and said he was a debt collector (I believe it was Penn Collections) and asked if I was (and then he stated my name, but mispronounced my last name, even tho it's a simple one to pronounce phonetically by the spelling) and then got an attitude with me because I said it correctly. The he wanted me to verify my street address. I told him I refuse to give that info out, but he could tell me what he has and I'll tell him if he's right or not. He kept insisting on me giving him my information. Um, nope! I hung up and blocked the number.

- ErinI've got a message from my daughter staying that a guy call her grandma's house looking for me. ( which I haven't lived there or been a part of that family in 20 years). He would not give the grandma a name or anything. So my daughter calls the guy wouldn't give her a name , just told her that it's a personal issue and he has to talk to me direct.
I haven't called them nor am I planning on it. Because I have no debt nor have I heard of the company. I googled the number.- Caller: Penn

- Anonymous| 5 repliesBased on reading many posts about Penn Credit and 1-800-900-1380, I wonder if many of these calls are from overseas scammers who spoofed Penn Credit's caller ID. I know Penn Credit is a legitimate debt collection company, but if you get a call out of the blue saying that you owe money, chances are it's a scammer. Some of the complaints involved money owed to Publishers Clearing House. If you bought something from them, and are past due, PCH will notify you via US Mail before turning it over to collections. I was getting unsolicited calls from "Penn Credit" myself, to the point where I blocked the number. I owe nothing to Publishers Clearing House, and have always paid what I owed in full upon receiving my shipments. Other creditors also would notify their clients if they are past due on a bill or payment, via either e-mail or US Mail, before turning them over to a collection agency. If you get a robocall from "Penn Credit", and you answer, DON'T provide any personal information at all. If they claim that you owe money, ask them to send you a paper statement via US Mail. If the person on the phone is reluctant to do so, or persistently ask for additional personal information, then it is a SCAM. Hang up, and block the number if you hhave a call blocker device or app.

Depends on how you define "legitimate". If you mean that they are a legal entity registered with the state then yes they are a "legitimate" entity. However, if you define it as how do they conduct business then no they are not a legitimate entity.Quote:I know Penn Credit is a legitimate debt collection company,
