Repeatedly calls, never leaves a message. read the other reports - happened 4 times in last two days

This sounds like a collection scam company. They phone, but they never leave a message. I put them on call block

Well then you must be part of the scam, [***]. Revenue Canada does not work that way - they send registered letters and cannot put people in jail, this isn't the states, moron.

If you know about this scam, why hasn't the CRA done anything more concrete to stop this? This same number has been around for years!

Survey says, SCAM! They have a little info, like possibly your address, company name, etc.This might be from a government hack a few years back. The info they have is old, about 2-3 years. When I told them they owed me for a capital loss of $32 million (which is real) and for my invoicing under article 10 of ~$87,000, they quickly STFU and wanted to get off the phone. I guess they realized that dog don't hunt here lol.

Receiveda call from 1-800-931-1026. First caller told me they needed my business number. Didnt give it to them. 2nd caller asked me for my identity but not my sin. They only wanted to know if they were talking to the right person. So I gave it to the caller. It told me about an owing balance I had from my income tax. They were pretty accurate with the information about my income tax. But did I just screw myself over? And how did they get an access to my income tax owing balance?

The CRA doesn't initiate contact by phone but by mail. Did you receive mail regarding this?

Scam. Do not give your SIN #. Government departments will send lettermail.

Got calls several times. Today I answered and she want my info in the name of "verifying".

How come it comes up Cra.  Not CRA on my call display.  Also call is from the United states.  Wtf?  Are we now having Americans call us in regards to our tax accounts?

Recently renewed our provincial business license and suddenly start getting calls daily from this number? Answered once because it came up looking like the GOC and got dead air for my trouble. They never leave messages.  Most definitely not the government calling.

lady called from this number, claiming to be calling from CRA regarding GST #, which doesn't sound right GST # to me also asked to confirm my details. I said why would I give my details over the phone when the information you gave me is not right. Told her to send the information in mail and i'll take care of that.

Apparently a scam. Your best advice it to ensure you have a clean computer (no viruses), look up the CRA telephone number, wait the 15min or whatever is needed, then ask, did you call me? They will look it up and check. It turned-out that they did not call me, but while there, also got some details fixed ahead of tax season. Today's VoIP is able to fake a bunch of stuff including caller ID, so your best advice is to say you'll call back, but you use a telephone number you know is correct, not one that is provided by them.

Called and indicated that I needed to call them back, gave the phone number 1-800-959-2250 on voicemail. Caller ID showed 1-800-931-1026, I looked-up the GOC CRA phone number and called there instead. Apparently the CRA never called me.
I had these people call before and they apparently already have your SIN plus some older tax details from the past too.
Best advice is tell who-ever that called, please leave your name, then "you" call the "real" telephone number listed on the CRA website.

I have a number of calls from this number for the past week. Sometimes 3 or more times a day & at various times, from just past 8 am to evening hours. So this time I called back &I got a very official sounding greeting. All agents are busy, please hold, followed by strange sounding music.  At that point I decided not to hold. Like the others said, if it is CRA they can send me a letter.  I don't owe anything.t
