- Arkansas Target replies to Dave DennisonAgain, the DNC list ONLY covers telemarketers, NOT banks or other credit-issuing companies.
- Jelly replies to HelenI have a Juniper card that is in compliance. Not overlimit and not late in payments. They call, and I let it ring through to my answering machine. I believe they just want to sell me something, but they never leave a message, just keep calling without stating purpose. I called the number on the back of my card. The personnel in Phillipines could not help me but gave me these two Barclay bank customer service numbers. I voiced my complaint and feel it will be resolved.
The calls come from Barclays Bank. You can request them to cease and desist by calling one of these two numbers:
(888) 232-0780
(866) 443-7083
Try it. - Jessica GCalls every morning never speaks. I hear them hang up the miniet I say hello. Who taught these people maners???
- Caller: Don't know
- Call type: Telemarketer
- MsDaisy replies to Arkansas Target| 2 repliesWhy should I be harassed into buying their product just so I can get them to stop calling? If you'd do some research on this product and other "credit" insurance you would find out that they are a total rip-off. You are much better off to take the monthly amount of insurance and apply that to your balance. Or better yet, pay your balance in full every month. If you can't pay your balance every month, then you really have no business using credit cards.
- bonray replies to MsDaisy| 1 replyI do agree that credit insurance is a rip-off. Don't get it!MsDaisy if you can afford to pay off your balance every month, then why are you using a credit card? That makes no sense to me.
- MeggyThey keep calling, I just let the machine pick up, of course they never leave a message! I am not late and never have been on any of my cards, I am sure if this is what the call was about they would leave a nice message! LOL
- jwhoopi replies to bonrayFirst of all. NEVER GET THE CREDIT INSURANCE!!!! IT is a ripoff. Getting it just to stop the calls is ridiculous, all you have to do is tell them not to call anymore and they usually stop.
As to why you might want to use the card, first of all, there are severeal protections that a card offers over cash, such as being able to dispute charges, keep expenses organized, keep a record of the charges. etc. If you are renting a card, some give you free insurance. Some offer extended payment protection. Finally, if the merchant is someone you don't like, (electric co? Big multinational corp?) and you go to a small credit union and you like your bank, you can charge knowing that the store will lose 3-4% on the deal, while giving revenue to your credit union.
In addition to all of these, there is generally a 20-30 day grace period involved. So you get the use of the money for the grace period without paying any interest. - LizThey call several times a day but do not leave messages. I am not behind on my payments to them. I suppose they are trying to sell me credit insurance on my zero balance?? Strange.
- aLeft no message. Have called a few times. Have no clue what it's for.
