I don't know what this number wants from me. But it has been harassing me for days now. Some guy from ND called me from there and said his name is Eric. It has a deep voice and I don't know a guy name Eric who has a voice like that. Whoever that is needs to stop calling me, because this is obviously harassment and I didn't give my number out to anyone and no one should use my number as a toy to play with. My number is only use for important calls or emergencies, and probably if someone needs to talk to me about something. Not some harassment calls I don't know. Now this number needs to STOP... CALLING!

I received a call from this # but I didn’t answer.  It said “Inmate Phone Service”.  The I received this text right after. 😡
“This is Eryn Ratcliff at Richardson Police Department. Setup an account ($0.20/min) at www.ncic.com or call 800-943-2189. Add this number to your contact list to prevent call blocking from this facility.”   I’m definitely going to block it.

i am getting the same name which screams scam on the part of this phone number

They first sent me a text that someone who I do not know is trying to contact me with an inmate collect call.  And then I get a phone call from the same phone number as the text phone number.  I deliberately ignored the call.  No voicemail.  But then I get called from that same number a dozen times in one day throughout the day.  I get called multiple times the next day, and again the next day.  No one leaves a voicemail.  I assume this is just a inmate scam which apparently is a real thing.

I’m glad I came here to read everyone’s comments. I got a dozen voicemails and one text. I was worried it was an inmate that got the wrong number and I felt sorry for them and started to wonder how to let them know they had the wrong number. But I see now that it’s possibly a scam. If it is real, I hope the inmate gets the help they need. But too many people have gotten scammed by this company it seems, so I sadly cannot risk it. :(

Private prisons are the absolute worst.

Phone rang, I answered. Automated machine claiming it's ncic, I couldn't make out the name of the jail. "Person" trying to call me wasn't blank, man's name saying Jim.

jailhouse call supposedly. Looks like an inmate got ahold of a cell phone, illegally.

If that were the case then it won't come through as an inmate call.

They send me a text and called my cell phone and I thought it was my dad calling me, but it was jail caller. And left a message about a inmate collect call. I done gave the one by accident. I bet I know is a scam anyway. So I had deleted the message. If they called again, I’m going to block it

I recently received 2 calls from this number around 11pm and I have no idea who it could’ve been but I put the number into google and apparently it’s a number from some correctional facility by an “imate”. Idk anybody in jail so I thought that was weird to be receiving a call like that and from reading these comments I’m not the only one

UPDATE: so I found out who was calling me from the number and it is indeed a legit phone number (if anybody was curious) for people to use when they are incarcerated. It sent me a text message of the person who was trying to call and it turned out to be my ex boyfriend. I honestly feel bad
