Call your phone company and dispute the charges. File a report with the FTC and FCC, Attorney general.. fraud isn't funny at all!

My 16yr old son has been receiving calls from this. I called them up and had his number blocked. The sales rep was very helpful. So we shall see.

RECENTLY, THIS # CALLS ME ATLEAST 15 TIMES PER DAY..IT'S BLOCKED..NEVER WILL ANSWER..BLOCK ALL UNKNOWN #'s....

This 1-800-943-2189...she said it's from Cocke Co and the caller ID reads "inmate".  What's strange is they they're calling her house AND cell phone!  She said the name is Matthew Magahey or sounds like that.  I called the number and got NCIC.  The lady just said for her to answer the call, listen for the prompt to tell her how to BLOCK the call and do that.  We have NO IDEA who this is!!

It's the State/County that is allowing these outrageous rates.  They get a cut and don't give a damn about prisoners, or their families.  If it costs $35.00 to find out someone you know has been arrested, they just don't care. I've read these contracts they have with these companies. It's a total rip-off, but only because the facility likes it that way and we allow it.

Called me and could barely understand the prompts. Luckily my daughter googled it.

This is apparently is the company that jails use to let inmates make collect calls.   I accepted & gave them my credit card info and it was indeed a collect call from my brother who was arrested.   The only bad thing is it cost $30 to talk to him for 30 seconds to tell me where he was locked up at.  

This number is to an inmate pre-pay account which needs to be set up before you are able to speak with the caller. A deposit is required and minutes @ .90 per are deducted from your deposit. This company is located in Texas. If you recieved a call from the 800-943-2189 number it is most likely an inmate calling you. You can call the number on your caller id and they will help you set up an account.

This may also be the jail in Panhandle, TX, Carson County as they use the MCIC Phone service also.

On 2/14/2014 starting at 3:15 am I started receiving calls from this number.  So far today I have had 8 calls.  I called them back and they told me they are a Correctional Center in East Lansing Michigan.  I don't know any one in jail.  I will be reporting this to the local authorities on Monday.

I received a call from this # and answered it....It tells you what jail it is when you answer. I put 25.00 on it and was told a one time fee of 4.95 is charge and I would have 15 min to talk....when they connected me to my call it said I had 7 minutes...

When I accepted the call it told me who it was from..in fact it was him on the line and it was his voice....I set up acct. And talked to him....NO SCAM

Just got a call from this number, but didn't answer. Got an automative voicemail asking me to the number back. Later the message said that it was an NCIC operative and that ______ was trying to call me. I didn't really under the name, it kind of sounded like Justin.

My card was charged again yesterday from this number. I understand that it is from a local jail. However, no one called from that number and if they had, it wouldn't have been a charge for $2.86. I did know someone that called last month and my card number was used to set up an account. However, he was released then. There is no one there now so this charge (out-of-the-blue) is a problem for me. Do you just randomly bill someone small amounts forever after you get their card number?
