- MichaelAH1967Cap going to lower my interest rate. Except I have never had a card with them. When I asked for their actual business name she became evasive. Then it wasn't Cap 1 it was educational services. When I told her I don't have a credit card anywhere, only a debit card. She said if I give her the number to it she could lower that rate. Idiots.

- MichaelAH1967 replies to Zach R| 1 replyI found it odd, that you say they're legit. Capitol One says this company had no association with them and they consider them to be a fraud.
- BigA replies to MichaelAH1967It is called a preemptive strike around here. Scammer try to make their calls sound legitimate by coming here and posting stuff like that. The mods must have missed it at that time. I will report it to the administration for removal.

- CrystalI contacted Capital One. This is totally a scam. They said they never do interest rate reduction calls. You actually have to call them to request a reduction. They said to beware of these calls. Sometimes they spoof Capital One #'s to show up on your caller Id. Never answer these calls or give out your information. You can contact the Capital One # on the back of your card and check to see if the call was legit and also if there are any reductions available. It worked out for me in the end, I actually qualified for a interest rate reduction. I would not have called if it had not been for the scam call to begin with. So thanks scammers! LOL

- DeanReceive 2 calls and 2 voice mails with number a number to call back 8009694345.
The voicemail I received states "Hello this is Ashely calling from the underwriting department regarding your capital one credit card account. Based on your recent payment activity and balance you may be eligible for an interest-rate reduction to as little as 1.9%. There is additional information I need to confirm your eligibility so please return my call directly in the underwriting department at 1-800-969-4345 once again 1-800-969-4345. This will be the only notice you will receive and this offer is only valid for three business days. Thank you." I thought it possibly was capital one wanting me back since the account was closed since I hadn't used it in 3 years. After seeing this I'm glad I'm didn't contact them. The timing of the call is the only thing that thought it may be true since the card was just cancelled this last week. I will report them.- Caller: Claiming to be Underwriting Department for Capital One
