I went to the ER in November of 2007, and I completely paid off the bill a few months later. HRRG has been calling me since February, saying I owed $35 or something. So I sent them the check after checking that they were a legit thing, and they have kept calling me. They cashed the check, but still said my balance was due. I now have to go to my bank, have them print a copy of the check I used to prove that I did pay it, and send it to them again. They are idiots.

These twits wrote me a letter.  I called them, explained that Aetna swears that their ER doctor is contracted with them and that they were paid the contracted amount.  I also explained that I worked nights and told them it was inconvenient to call me.

    The twits called me Thursday.

Unfortunately for them, I recorded the first conversation.  The FDCPA does not require notice of inconvenience of phone calls to be written, and it was still within the 30 day validation period.

I faxed and mailed them a letter, along with the EOB from Aetna, disputing the debt under the FDCPA and stating that if they still believed a debt was owed, I would be more than happy to settle their FDCPA violation for the amount of the alleged debt (327.25) plus $400, and that they could send their client the amount they claim is due and send me the $400 via check or money order, whichever they preferred.

And letting them know I had them on tape.

This company already has several suits against them pending in federal court.

You can deal with a collection agency if you are properly armed -- with a knowledge of the law and a tape recorder.  And if you're actually willing to go down to the courthouse and file suit against them.  Which I am.

I've been receiving many calls from 800-984-9115 also.  I too had an ER visit in the last year, but I thought my health insurance covered everything.  I'll read more here and decide what type of action I'm taking about obtaining information about this supposed nonpayment.  Anyhow, here's a link to the company (apologies if it was already posted).

I called this number to find out what's going on. Apparently Emergency Room did not receive payment from my Insurance. The lady I spoke to had information about my insurance card, but numbers were mixed up. (Like policy number was used instead of ID number etc..) She also had our names and address and all that was correct.
We came to ER in the middle of the night and it's quite possible that ER staff confused info. The lady clarified insurance card information and said that she'll follow up with my Insurance company about payment and we don't have to worry.
I'll write here if I get their call again.

Got a call today from someone at this number.  Called back, and the woman refused to identify herself, and only said that the company was HRRG.  When I asked what it was about, she refused to tell me.  She kept asking who I was and what my phone number was.  Very sketchy.

We get several calls from this number per week for the last several months.  They leave this message "This is HRRG calling.  We look forward to helping you.  Call 800 984-9115".  Until I went online I had no idea who they were or what they wanted to help with.  I have not and will not call them.  My husband has had several surgeries recently, but our insurance is paying these bills.  We don't need their help.  I would like the phone calls to stop.

You owe memorial hospital. I asked why didnt the hospital send me a bill. He said they did so lady just pay what you owe. I said I dont owe anything. Then he got rude. He told me my english was poor. And all I had to do was give my credit card info. I said go to hell. I pay when the hospital send me a bill to prove I owe them. I was in the er in February. I got a bill for $400 and I paid it the same time. What this is about I dont know. Just know that the economy is in trouble and people trying to get money under many false pretence.

stated that i owed an emergency room doctor bill over 300.00.  called my insurance comppany who clearly stated that the er doctor failed to file a claim. what is so irritating about this whole  thing is that the HRRG harasser stated that the doctor claimed to have never obtained any proof of medical insurance while my child was being treated at the hospital. the emergency room at that hospital would have never even treated my child without proof of insurance and would have tried to collect some kind of funds upfront. anyway, i filled out form after form while ther at the emegency room and now out of the blue this HRRG calls and claims i did not pay.  the bottom line is the er doctor failed to file his end of the claim and now knows his time is running out. i am not liable for this if the doctor fails to file on time. the doctor knows it is now trying to coverf his rear.  the thing is the state attorney general loves clowns like these and will send them notice that they have been reported.  i jut have to go through the motions with these convicts until the AG steps in. meanwhile don't give up hope folks.  talk to hospital medical coordinator who is over the emergency room or track down the doctor himself and make payment arrangements. do not pay these goofballs at HRRG. i will post their physical street address tomorrow. i ahve it at home. you too can stop the harrassment!

It is a collection agency that specializes in Medical bill collecting. They are actually expanding their business by purchasing old debts including ones that have past the states statute of limitations.

The one thing about the old debts most people do not know is that if you do not pay them the owner of the debt cannot legally bring you to court for a judgment or even put it on your credit report for that matter. All they can really do is call on your phone and write you letters to harass you. You can search the web and find out how to write a legal letter to them stating you will deal only with the original debtor and they need to cease further contact with you in the matter which should help.

    Hope this is helpful.
