I wish the websites that allow you to get an email would ask for more info in order to have a control of all of this.
I can't believe that not even the government or police or somebody can do something about it, what he is doing is illegal so is selling drugs,stealing,killing people,fraud,dwi,and I could mentioned a lot of illegal acts that are punished and this guy is havimg fun doing this and scamming people.

Man, you tell me, I wish somebody would do something too, I don't know, the police should put a trap to catch him.

This Srgt Robert Rutland is all over Chicago Craigslist with different names and different cars, too good to be true. If he was smart, he would've priced the cars slightly below the KBB market value but he's an idiot. He claims to ship free from UK and a 2004 Mint condition Range Rover for $4,900. I don't know who he's fooling.

Here's another name. He sent me two e-mails on two different addresses and didn't respond to the other inquires I made because he realized that I caught him. I told him to bring the car and I want to test drive it. No response to that.

Renwick Davis tried to scam me. Only, I looked up the vin # that he gave me and it was for a different 4Runner. I sent him the link of the actual 4Runner, which was a different color. Also ran a carfax report and the car was sold in an auction in Texas 2 months ago. Then I googled his name and found this forum with all of his scams. I let him know that I was aware of what he was doing and haven't heard anything else. Google is a powerful tool. I used it to look up everything about the car and this guy and realize this was a scam.

Wow I just responded to "Master Sgt. Renwick Davis" about the 4Runner that is located in the UK.  I got real excited and asked him how to proceed.  Glad I looked up the VIN and found all this info.  What a JERK!

This happened to me, too. Thank you all for posting about this, I was truly thinking that I found such a deal - I even got a Carfax report! Wow - what a jerk.  And to steal the indentities of people who serve our country, that's pretty low.  This the type of thing that validates incompetent, ignorant racial views about middle-eastern people, and that sucks.  Thanks again for the info.

I saw an add on craigslist for a 2004 Range Roover HSE with a site for pictures. Sgt Robert Rutland of the USAF is the seller from the UK. Once I answered the add by email to ask the mileage, the listing was gone from craigslist. He requested paymetn throught Ebay and the car would be sent to my home. The Rover has a blue book value of $23,000 and selling it for $4900.00. Another too good to be true.

He is trying sell GMC DENALI SUV on Craiglis.com....

He told me he is going to Iraq with his platoon, so he need sell it soon until May 30. He is a joker.

Man O Man I almost fell in his trap, but using Google was a powerful tool. He is a mess trying to scam people and claiming to be a SGT. in the Air Force lol. I am kinda sad because I love 4Runners :-(

Word to the wise--knowing how rank is abbreviated by military branch will be handy.  Also, I have yet to run across any fellow military members who use their rank in their personal emails.  Guess serving in the AF for over 15 years has taught me a thing or two.  One of my troops came across this scammer and asked his supervising officer, me, to look into it.

Buyer beware..

If the price is too good to be true it's a scam. eBay does not get involved in any transaction. All wire transfer deals, money orders are all scams even if they have a certified check it's a fake and will cost you your car and money. Do not trust it.
