It is however very disappointing that these creeps have been able to continue this for so long! It is also frustrating because you never know who you can trust anymore. I'm the real Perry.. When i was stationed in England this was a huge issue the scammer would go on military websites and take the names of troops who may have been featured in a story or a photo.

Here is the facts with military and selling cars

we cannot just ship a car using a military aircraft, thats fraud and impossible. whenever we do get stationed overseas our cars are shipped by civilian contractor by boat... so it being shipped on a plane is bull...

and 99% of the time we will not sell our cars on craiglist especially if we are overseas. we have our own resale lot on base and like to sell our cars to other military personnel to keep ourselves from getting scammed.

also a service member will never just say hey I'm in the military or say his rank (most of the time these scammers are wrong with rank) to civilians or when they are selling something online to a civilians.


So bottom line if a service member is selling his car on craiglist and he's talking about shipping it from overseas, or he constantly reminds you he is in the military, it's a scam.
